Ellis was mediocre but consistently so and his prime years were mostly under mediocre head/defensive coaches.
Again I was a homer, but I say if Ellis doesn't break his leg, he as good as Michael Strahan.

I won't argue that notion. A broken leg in those days was almost a death sentence and his stats were comparable before it happened. The DE position was such a turnstile in those days too and there was little chance for players to gel/develop chemistry as a unit. JFC, now I'm flashing back to the Peppi Zellner/Ebenezer Ekuban days.

That aspect of coherence in a unit is sometimes forgotten. When you constantly rotate guys in and out, it doesn't give them a chance to develop familiarity and trust to the guy next to them.

Martin would be my choice...I like to have a foundation to a team and the OL is ours. We can legit claim to have the best T, C, and G in football...I do not want to break that up.
