So, the Republican Pty will block President Obama's nominee; though they don't know who it will be. That's where we are?
Yeah, I thought it was really weird how they came out and said they wouldn't approve any one he nominated. People are really ok with this? At least wait and see who he nominates and make the argument based on the person. I guess people are just used to Congress not doing anything at this point

Republicans have been all bluster for the last 8 years. Even when they shut down the gov't nothing came of it. ACA still got funded and they skulked off with their tale between their legs. I suspect a similar thing will happen this time.

Well they worded it a little more kindly then that. They basically said they wanted the American people to be able to decide based on the election. Makes people feel like they are just empowering the people.

And of course the Dems will try and paint it as the Republican congress just getting nothing done.

They said no nominee will even get a hearing. And they're well within their rights on this. Not the first time its happened either.

We've had elections before. We elected the current Congress and the current President to do their jobs now, not pass the work on to the next person to do the job

Sure, but unexpected things happen. Honestly I have no idea why someone would be mad at congress if they stall to try and get the correct guy in office. I also have no idea why anybody would be made at Obama if he does his job and nominates someone. The only people that are dicks are the ones fighting over the issue while the mans body is still warm.

The online response to this guy's death from the left has been pretty disgusting. You'd think they'd take a cue from their hero Ruth Bader Ginsburg who was actually his best friend and vacationed with him, which makes you think he probably wasn't a monster and just maybe disagrees with you on gay marriage and what constitutes racism.

But then again most of the real racists and bigots who have turned these issues into holy crusades which demand 100% conformity or face vilification (see the disgusting responses to mom and pop bakeries who refuse to bake gay wedding cakes), probably don't even know anything about Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Not like we should assume internet race warrior socialists have a clue about much of anything, really.
Well said.

Scalia was found with a pillow over his face, and the local judge chose to forgo an autopsy.

Clearly Obama had him killed for standing in the way of the NWO's FEMA death camps.

SCOTUS Analyst: Loretta Lynch 'Most Likely Candidate' to Replace Scalia

SCOTUS Analyst: Loretta Lynch 'Most Likely Candidate' to Replace Scalia

by CORKY SIEMASZKO

A leading Supreme Court analyst thinks Attorney General Loretta Lynch is the "most likely candidate" to replace the late conservative Justice Antonin Scalia.

Tom Goldstein, who runs the influential SCOTUSblog, had earlier predicted Ninth Circuit Judge Paul Watford would make the top of President Obama's shortlist. But in a revised blog post, Goldstein said he now believes Lynch is the leading contender.

Lynch is a "very serious possibility," Goldstein wrote. "The fact that Lynch was vetted so recently for attorney general also makes it practical for the president to nominate her in relatively short order."

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, fearing that whoever Obama picks will tip the ideological balance of the nation's highest court to the left, has already made it clear that he believes next president should be responsible for appointing a justice. GOP presidential candidates, including Sen. Ted Cruz and Sen. Marco Rubio, have made similar statements.

But tapping Lynch to fill the seat of Scalia, who died suddenly Saturday, poses a perception problem for Republicans because her "history as a career prosecutor makes it very difficult to paint her as excessively liberal," Goldstein wrote.

Lynch would be the first black woman ever nominated to the nation's highest court — and the GOP would have a political problem during an election year if the Republicans refused to even consider her nomination, Goldstein wrote.

"I think the administration would relish the prospect of Republicans either refusing to give Lynch a vote or seeming to treat her unfairly in the confirmation process," Goldstein wrote. "Either eventuality would motivate both black and women voters."

I have no doubt she would get rejected by the Republicans. She has a very liberal agenda.

Welcome back Smitty.:lol

Using a couple of liberal rabble rousers to paint everybody on the Left as disgusting.

You just mentioned a prominent left person not doing this and she is far from alone.

And what the hell does race have to do with this especially considering the race warriors currently leading the right.

Because they both do their own painting on the subject. I personally disagree with both parties. The Republicans shouldn't be saying no to a nomination before they know who it is. The Dems shouldn't be bitching about the Republicans denying the Presidents choice until they do.

I think it pretty shitty by both sides right now which is what I said earlier.

It's a hell of a gamble for the Republicans. They have 24 senate seats up for grabs compared to 10 Democrats. Rolling into a non midterm they stand to lose big. You'd think with an ass whipping like that on the horizon, they'd be smart to choose the greater part of valor, rather than get in a pissing contest.

If going nuclear is the new standard they have to bank on winning the presidency and congress. Otherwise the democrats could just block a republican nomination for the next 4 years.

If you aren't slamming Scalia then I'm not talking about you. Plenty of people are though.

I think the best play for the republicans is going trying to get a compromise candidate. Not sure if they are against that but it may be that they are posturing to get the administration to reach out and try to make a deal for a change by showing that they are prepared to fight it out if he doesn't.

And plenty are praising him and let's not act like he was a saint there are legitimate things to slam and praise him on.

Well I'm not talking about well-reasoned positions about his published opinions, I'm talking about celebrating, saying good riddance, calling him a bigot, homophobe, racist, etc.

Then again those are the common retorts crazy liberals make when confronted by conservative positions that overwhelm their tiny brains, so we shouldn't be surprised.

Better than crazy conservatives that shoot up planned parenthoods and theaters when people disagree with them.

My point was you painting the left with a very broad brush when the majority of them have been very respectful.

Especially the ones who carry any weight.
