Under “negatives” for Newton, Nawrocki writes, “Very disingenuous — has a fake smile, comes off as very scripted and has a selfish, me-first makeup. Always knows where the cameras are and plays to them. Has an enormous ego with a sense of entitlement that continually invites trouble and makes him believe he is above the law — does not command respect from teammates and will always struggle to win a locker room . . . Lacks accountability, focus and trustworthiness — is not punctual, seeks shortcuts and sets a bad example. Immature and has had issues with authority. Not dependable.”

Not sure if this was mentioned, but that might've been Demarcus Ware's finest game as a pass-rusher today.

Guess he is a big-game player after all. We just never gave Demarcus a big-game to play in.

I wonder if there is an alternate universe where Dallas hired Rivera instead of Wade?

There is no more or less talent on that team that anyone else.

Belichick controls it all. And most of the time, like 75% of the time, he can beat you.

That's all on him. Brady is an accessory.

He is a remarkable coach and team builder. He has lapped Bill Parcells a few times over.

And piss off with the "cheating" garbage.

He is the GOAT.
Just perusing the thread and saw this...

If the Patriots have no more or less talent than anyone else, I understand how he could be a remarkable coach, since he wins as much as he does. But why would that make him a remarkable team builder? You just said they have no more talent than anyone else.

Belichick may be the GOAT, but he lost the game today. Passed on 2 FG att's in 4th quarter and then lost due to missing 2pt conversion. 1 FG and they'd have won it at the end. And if not for a dumb pass play from the 1 yd line last year, the Pats would've lost the SB. Last SB win would've been '04.

As an aside, we do not have a defense that could hit Brady (or any QB) 19 times over the course of a game, nor do we have a QB that could take 19 hits over the course of a game.

Yeah, that's probably not going to happen with Manning's bb gun arm.
He had the same arm this week that he will have in the Super Bowl. The run game and their defense are going to be the key...much like Elway at the end of his career.

Elway's arm was much stronger than Peyton's at the same point, but yeah, Elway wouldn't have won any titles without Terrell Davis and solid defense.

When he retired, that offense was a well-oiled machine. Elway passed for over 300 yards in his last Superbowl.

Well yeah, we don't blitz like they do. We don't have the secondary to cover up for it like they do. And we don't have LBers that can cover like theirs so.

What's crazy is, I saw a Tweet that said their blitz rate yesterday was their lowest of the year. They were just dominating the LOS.

It is pretty crazy because it seemed like we saw their two OLBers hitting the QB on every play.

From http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/14642395/gary-kubiak-wade-phillips-dialed-gem-get-bill-belichick-tom-brady-nfl

On Sunday, Phillips put the blitz packages away, and it flummoxed the Pats. The Broncos blitzed on just 16.4 percent of Brady's dropbacks. That's a lower blitz rate than any Phillips-led defense has attempted in more than eight years, dating back to Week 9 of the 2007 season, when Phillips was in his first year as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. After rushing three men just 30 times all season, Phillips sent a mere three-man rush on 14 dropbacks versus Brady on Sunday, with the star Patriots quarterback going 4-of-13 for 41 yards with a sack, an interception and a passer rating of just 9.5.

Altogether, the Broncos were able to pressure Brady on 31.1 percent of his dropbacks. That's the highest pressure rate on Brady in the playoffs since Super Bowl XLII, when the Giants upset the Patriots with a similarly blitz-averse scheme and pressured Brady on 33.3 percent of his passing plays. And even they managed to hit Brady only nine times across his 53 dropbacks during that game. The Broncos got Brady 20 times in 60 dropbacks yesterday afternoon.
