junk I know you are scarred by the Caleb McSurdy embarassment, but shed a little light on Holmes if you can.

Oregon QB Vernon Adams was returning kicks during Thursday's Shrine Game practice.

This is an interesting development. While the 6-foot, 190-pound Adams showcased his athleticism with the Ducks when healthy, he wasn't busting out with the kind of breakaway speed that NFL teams covet in return men. Whether he can stick at quarterback at the next level remains to be seen, though. CBS Sports analyst Dane Brugler doesn't believe that's the case. Earlier this week, he wrote that Adams "just isn't built for NFL action." Beyond his slighter-than-desired frame, his hand measured just 8 3/4". On top of that, Adams suffered several injuries in his year at Oregon and durability questions are sure to crop up in war rooms for interested parties.

He's a decent player for FCS. He was their defensive player of the year. Not a huge guy. Maybe similar to Kroy Biermann who came out of there a few years for now and plays for Atlanta. He's probably a 5-6th round guy. Better prospect than McSurdy for sure.

Props.

I thought he looked fairly decent in the limited YouTube vids.

Wouldn't surprise me if we put off taking a QB until day 3, 4th-5th rd, especially if we fall for thinking Romo has 3-4 years left.

Yeah, we are past the point of trying to develop a QB as our backup. We are now onto the point of needing a starter in the near future potentially. Either go get a serious QB prospect or just know the team is going to fall apart soon.

I like Brandon Allen alot, I think he would easily become a very good backup and potential starter down the road, I think he was comparable to a guy like Kirk Cousins coming out. He needs a system around him in order to succeed because he doesn't have the pure talent to elevate a team on his own but I think he has the ability to be a competent NFL starter in the proper system.

Now, that doesn't mean I would be happy with passing on a QB at 4 that I think could be our starter for 10 years, nor would I think that drafting him means our future starting QB situation is solved, but I would much prefer taking him in the 4th or 5th as opposed to Cook or Hackenberg in the 2nd or Driskell in the 3rd.

With a good Senior Bowl week he may honestly be my 4th QB after the top 3.
