I will say that I don't think Trump actually believes in much of what he says. I read a David Gergen op ed a while back in which Gergen claims Trump's campaign is using professional wrestling tactics to create spectacle and build hype. I find that pretty spot on, and it kind of makes sense given Trump's long relationship with the WWF/E.

He's also galvanized a particular kind of voter that feels marginalized in public life. The thing about those types is that any resistance from the perceived "mainstream" just strengthens their resolve.

Aside from Sanders, the two candidates I care the least for is Clinton and Trumph. The irony is they both lead in their respective parties. As for Trumph, this is why I said earlier you shouldn't pay a lot of attention to what he is saying because it's all hype to keep his lead in the polls.

But it DOES matter. The rest of the world lacks the ability to see all of that. All it sees is the cariacature of an '80s tycoon polling more and more highly with American voters the more outlandish his rhetoric gets. And whether or not he would have the power to put any or all of his ideas into place, he does have a chance at the Presidency, and potentially would represent us in talks with other nations. It's just embarrassing as hell that, in the party that has canonized a statesman like Ronald Reagan, this guy is getting any run at all.

Well that's convenient but my original statement was a choice that was between Trump or Clinton, I would swallow my pride and go with Trump.
And that's idiotic. Because Trump is utterly unqualified for the position. He is literally exactly as qualified to play an NFL QB. Hillary sucks but she's served as an ambassador, senator, and Secretary of State. Trump has managed to do horrific damage to the Republicans just as a candidate. God save us if he actually managed to represent a country.

Fascism is getting popular everywhere. A Neo Fascist party just rose from obscurity to relevance in France.

You have a ball with your opinions and juvenile name calling. I still have little regard for Clinton's abilities to be a strong leader who is regarded well in the world scene. A great deal of the people in her own nation say she isn't trustworthy and world leaders see her as continuing the weak philosophies of the Obama administration. Just because she has been Secratary of State doesn't automatically qualify her to have the respect of world leaders. Trumps lack of experience doesn't make Clinton a more viable candidate in my opinion.

If you know all of that the how does the world view Clinton?

He's found a way to go with that segment that for some reason doesn't hit the "kook" factor like Ron Paul did, which I still don't get.

In other words, yeah, he's speaking to 'rasslin fans and that is probably what is rallying behind him.

It's not just his inexperience. Although, yes it absolutely disqualified him. Even among the broken establishment of the Republican Party Trump is seen as an extremist. He has no meaningful endorsements, no knowledge of the Middle East, a palpable disrespect for the constitution, minorities, veterans, the disabled, women, and frankly his own base.

He's a rapist, a fraud, a cheat, who's used his considerable money, influence and a nation of highly paid attorneys to create a false narrative of him as a successful businessman, when his actual resume makes him look more like a con artist,

Now I don't presume to be more intelligent than you. But even the smartest man is capable of doing something idiotic because of his biases. In this case when asked if you would vote for a poor legitimate candidate and a Buffon without a single qualification on his resume. You chose the buffoon. Yes that's idiotic. That's being told to pick a switch and grabbing the rusty pipe because it's in the nearest closet.

I conclude then you are saying that since I reject Clinton I am idiotic. Fine by me. I cannot see myself changing my stance on her in the foreseeable future.

I'm saying that voting for Trump under any circumstance is idiotic. Like a man who irons his pants while wearing them or a college student that majors in philosophy. It's a decision made thoughtlessly, without full regard of the consequences. If you choose to be insulted by that then I don't know what to tell you, hurt feelings a really lazy way to avoid fair criticism.

Favor Rubio over Clinton, fine. But you just failed a test which asked if you'd vote for a scum of the earth who doesn't even represent your political interests if he happened to win a nomination from the political party you favor. What else is there to do but tell you the results of the test?

If I said "hey I'm gonna iron my pants while wearing them." Please for the love of God tell me that's idiotic.

My feelings are not hurt but I do enjoy your pointless metaphors. They are misplaced and make absolutely no sense for this conversation.

Fair enough. Perhaps I'm being too abstract.

Let's say it's your job to hire the president of the United States. What qualities, skills, and talents are you looking for in a candidate?

Someone who knows how to put people in place to fit the needs of the office. It not the President that needs to know everything. The essential thing is to have qualified people around you that can get the job done. That office is bigger than one person.

Fair enough. I would think that's something a former attorney with 20 years experience in Washington, strong ties with both Bill Clinton and Obama's cabinet would have an advantage over a real estate magnate and reality show star.

Who does Trump know with military experience, foreign policy experience, economic experience, or agricultural experience? Odds are his own party (of which he's not really a member) would revolt against him, so he's probably not going to get a lot of help there. Does he just ask for his VPs Rolodex?

You just missed the entire point of my post. The executive officer needs to know how to find the people of all these expertise. There are thousands of qualified people to fill the roles of all the areas you mentioned. While it may be helpful it isn't critical because that's the point of having advisers and a cabinet. You are trying to sell a person who may have had some exposure to these areas but the office is a constant evolution of people coming and going so static experience is not critical.

In fact it flies in the face of executive leadership throughout the entire corporate and governmental structures. The offices are filled wit individuals who have executive experience but may not have specialty exposure to the job. They surround themselves with specialist to fill those roles.

She got all those positions based on her name and did nothing except try to build a resume, which is entirely empty.

Don't confuse him with facts. Not to mention that only one qualifies for an executive position and she is being investigated for screwing that up.
