Finally got around to Jurassic World. Wasn't all that impressed.

Had to pick another movie at Redbox for my freebie. I ended up with a Kevin Bacon flick I have never heard of before called Cop Car. It wasn't bad in comparison.
Cop Car was really interesting. The ending was a little meh, but I guess it had to end somewhere. I'm not really sure how it qualified the director to shoot the new Spiderman movie, but it was well done. Just (hopefully) nothing like a Spiderman movie.

I only saw the first half of Jurassic World before I had to turn it off. That dumpster fire was a mess. Apparently nostalgia and Chris Pratt are all you need to make a billion dollars

Against my better judgement I went with my son's friend's birthday party to go see Spectre this weekend. I hadn't seen one since Casino Royale (which was great), and I guess I didn't realize they had started having an over-arching plot to Bond movies now for some reason. So maybe that is part of why I thought the movie made no sense, but I've heard other people that are caught up say the same thing. It seemed like they were actively stealing plot points for the later Austin Powers movies. But even within the script there is stuff like a big (admittedly cool) fight scene on a train that completely destroys the interior of like a quarter of the train. No one calls the cops. No one from the train comes to talk to Bond. He is just let off at his next stop on goes on his way... I liked Bautista and Ralph Fiennes and the guy that plays Q, but even Christoph Waltz seemed to be phoning it in. Very disappointing, but maybe I'd have enjoyed it more if I'd seen Skyfall and Quantum first. I hard Skyfall is the best of the sequels so maybe I'll watch that next unless I have to see Quantum to understand it too.

The Civil War trailer is out. Hate to say it, but it doesn't look that exciting.

Totally agree. I think they want audiences to root for Capt A, but when he and Bucky are fighting Iron Mwn, that kind of makes me sympathetic to Stark.

I relate more with Stark, so it is easy for me.

The comic book storyline is sympathetic to Captain America and his cause but Bucky had little to do with that from what I remember, so they seem to be changing a lot.

I need to reread.

It's really funny that this is coming out with Trump calling for some registrations as well.

The more trailers they field for The Force Awakens, the shittier it looks.

The Good Dinosaur was OK. Better than most of the animated crap that comes out, but way below Pixar's standards.

I saw The Martian today. Despite high expectations, I thought it was very good. Damon is great just doing one man camera work for most of the film and they didn't give away the entire plot in the trailer surprisingly.
I went and saw it last week. Really good. Damon was excellent. Suspension of disbelief was necessary IMO and there was never any question in my mind that it would end how it did, but I did really enjoy the movie.

Agreed. It was very visually appealing with how well they do landscapes now but the story itself was meh.

Creed was excellent...definitely a worthy addition to Rocky lore.
