How did Watchmen miss the mark?

It was almost frame by frame the same as the comic and the visuals were great IMO.
Been a while since I've seen it, but off the top of my head, it lacked the nuance of the book in terms of characterization. Rorschach is supposed to be an object mostly of revulsion and pity, but I didn't get much of that from the film. Most people in the theater with me cheered when he maims those guys in the prison scene.

Not much of the Cold War mutually-assured destruction stuff was translated well. Plus they wimped out on the vagina dentata alien, which was a key symbol. And the Leonard Cohen softcore porn scene was kind of laughable.

I can't be too hard on Snyder, I don't guess. That book's content and format are so closely linked that it's kind of not filmable.

I thought S vs B was a dumb premise, but the trailer has me interested.
Don't know shit about suicide squad, but didn't know shit about GG and enjoyed it so there's that.

Yeah I can see all of that but it's hard to bring in all that subtext in a already pretty long movie.

As for Rorschach I think all of the revulsion and pity was there, but most viewers overlooked that or maybe it's just easier to see it if you read the comic.

The comic was much deeper but as comic movie I think it was very well done, I think visually it's the best comic book movie I have seen.

Which at the end of the day is what's most important IMO.

I never read the comics so I couldn't compare, but outside of visuals and effects I thought it was horseshit. Crappy ending to a few specific characters (Rorschach, for example) and an overall shitty ending to the whole story.

It was fateful to everything in the comic except the ending which was even more crazy.:lol

I would give it a read but It if you thought the plot of the movie was horseshit there's not much different.

I thought the Rorschach ending was great story telling it fit the overall theme well.

I'm good. I heard the movie was close and between my dissatisfaction with the plot and the large amount of blue dong I had to endure, I've had my fill (pun intended).

Word is getting out that this movie is garbage. Apparently they're doing a ton of extra shooting in recent months because the first cut showed there's basically no action. Now, it was announced at Comic Con that a joint X Men/FF movie will come out after X Men: Apocalypse. The thinking is that by throwing a new FF out there so soon, they are already trying to sweep this shit under the rug.

Went to see Jurassic World...it was pretty fun, but it instantly went to dinosaur chase. I know they did not have to set up how they made them, but I expected a little bit more build up. Also, apparently if you were in the Navy you know how to wrangle dinosaurs.
