IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant had X-rays on his surgically-repaired right foot on Wednesday and if all goes well he could do more in the remaining organized team activities and minicamp later in the month.

"Hopefully he'll be cleared to take the next step and then we have to decide what that next step is," coach Jason Garrett said.

According to a source, Bryant could work through individual and seven-on-seven drills but likely be kept out of team drills through the offseason with the idea he would do more when training camp opens in late July in Oxnard, California.

Bryant had a second bone graft added to his right foot in January. He played in just nine games last year after breaking the fifth metatarsal in the season opener. The Cowboys placed him on injured reserve with two games left in the season.

Last week Bryant said if he had his way he would practice but he is doing his best to be patient.

"He's done a really good job in his rehab," Garrett said. "He's been involved in some of the walk-through situations and I think he's benefited from that. He has not practiced. Once he does some of the walk-through stuff - he's really watching practice and doing his rehab on the side. All of that has gone well. We'll see how he does with that next examination and we'll make our decision from there."
