I read he's saying McFadden is a seasoned veteran and is fitting in with other seasoned veterans. "Fitting in" doesn't mean "of equal stature". He's not comparing their careers for Heaven's sakes, just their relative time in the league.There is something to having been around that long that people respect, independent of ability or success.
