I did not think he was this good either. I am thankful he carries himself in a way that makes me think he can be an ace. You have to have the right mindset and he appears to have it. It will make it easier for Wheeler to transition knowing he does not have to be the man.

Harvey
Wheeler
Niese
Syndergaard
Gee

is going to be quite a rotation. Too bad Santana couldn't get his act together health wise. Then you could move Gee to the bullpen and feature Gee, Parnell, and Mejia. Nice.

It is nice to have all those young arms, but at least one is going to have to go for a legit OF bat.

As an aside...lots of Mets fans sleep on Rafael Montero. He is legit.

Referring to Stanton? I have heard the speculation that TX will go hard after him and if Profar is in the deal it will be tough for any team to trump. Andrus and Kinsler are locked up for a while and Kinsler's real value is in him remaining at 2B for the next few years. His numbers in the OF or at 1B are a lot less impactful. Profar's trade value has to be huge. Stanton is still really young and would likely club the ball in Arlington but he's had trouble staying healthy lately and people wonder a bit about a guy with his frame remaining in the OF for the long term. It's a trade that would make a lot of sense for both teams though. Rangers are good and a healthy Stanton in that lineup could make them really tough. Miami would get the prize prospect. Win, win.

I'm biased, but if I were a Rangers fan I would rather deal Profar for Price than Stanton.

Yeah. I just get the feeling that's where they are headed. Only way that I would prefer Price was if they could assure a contract extension. Lee soured me on the 1 and done trades. I get the feeling that they are happy with Darvish, Harrison, and Holland going forward. Getting a little tired of Murphys slow starts to the season and would take him as the 4th OF gladly.

Murphy's fielding this year is pissing me off, too. He is normally fairly solid. Not this year.

I like Cruz and want to resign him as well. However I think I would do that only if he knows he is on the way to a permanent DH role. He gas been bad as well.

I could see an OF of Stanton, Martin or Gentry and Cruz for the next 5 years. I think Tepisch and Grimm have shown a little that could make them possible trade bait as in maybe OLT (if he gets right) and those 2 plus something for Price?

I don't see how the Rangers can land Stanton and Price both. I think they'll probably have to decide which one they want more. KC had to give up Wil Meyers in a deal for James Shields. Shields is a really good SP but he's not Price. Have to imagine Profar + a little more could get either Stanton or Price but I'm assuming they don't have enough ammo for both. Another team will come along and throw a better prospect package together. Mike Olt is a pretty highly regarded prospect but I'm not sure if he's enough to act as a centerpiece for one of these guys. Maybe he is though, I'm not certain. He's pretty much stinking it up at AAA Round Rock this year and that's in the PCL, an extreme hitter's league.

I just pray it's not the Cubs giving up a couple of their top prospects for Price, as has been speculated. Price is outstanding but I want the Cubs to keep up this rebuilding effort. They have some pretty nice offensive prospects now and they should see it through with those guys. They have the money to supplement their rotation via free agency once they decide a couple of those young bats are ready for the Majors and they want to try and compete.

Olt is on the DL now and being shipped to just about every eye specialist they can send him to. Something is definitely wrong because his start to the season has been beyond horrid. He was also hit in the head by a pitch in the winter leagues and suffered a concussion. I wonder if that did something??

Tampa isn't giving Price away for that little package. They got a solid deal for Kazmir and 2 great deals for Shields and Garza. Price will fetch more than they did.

Unless they view Profar as a can't miss guy, the Rays would probably choose a package from the Cubs over the Rangers if given the choice. I know I'd much rather ship him to the NL.

Yeah. I'm not about trying to trade with the Rays. Now I know why its so hard to trade with Duece in the Kiper/Maycock/Mcshay mocks.
