LeSean McCoy sued for assault

Posted by Mike Florio on May 14, 2013, 1:52 PM EDT

Browns running back Trent Richardson isn’t the only tailback on the wrong side of an offseason assault lawsuit. According to CourthouseNews.com, Eagles running back LeSean McCoy has been sued for assault, too.

The alleged incident occurred on a “party bus” McCoy rented in December 2012, for a trip from Philadelphia to New York City. The plaintiff, a female suing under the “Jane Roe” pseudonym, alleges that McCoy and/or his bodyguard (John Doe a/k/a “Big John”) punched the plaintiff in the face, held her down and poured a beverage over her, and ejected her from the bus, all of which occurred after she complained about being sprayed with water.

After others on the bus complained about the plaintiff being stranded along the side of the road, McCoy allegedly allowed her back on the bus but then left her at a rest stop. The plaintiff claims that she reported the incident to New Jersey police.

The lawsuit, filed in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, seeks more than $50,000 in damages for assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, false imprisonment, and negligence.

Wait. Am I to take from this that punching women in the face, pouring beverages on them, and then leaving them stranded at a rest stop is illegal?
