He is a bit undersized, but he is fast as hell.
I did notice when they were running the LBers on RBs drills he was a matchup nightmare out there. There is definitely a market in the NFL now for those types of backs. What was his official size? I think I saw him at 5'7" and 198 or so.

Day would be a money 4th rounder although he doesn't provide the size that I want on the interior. If we can get him in the 4th and a run-stuffer like Johnson, Clark, Rankins, Billings or Butler I'd feel really good about our DL.

Yeah, it's something like that. If he ever gets the ball in space, watch out. And, yeah, there aren't many LBers in the league that will be able to cover him. Couple that with this kid having a good head on his shoulders and he might be able to make a career playing on Sundays.

Day is kind of a Crawford clone in our defense. A guy who I think could be an even better 3 technique then Crawford. But someone who can also kick out to DE and play the run well out there. I know we signed Crawford to that deal and his numbers last year don't look bad but I think we should be getting more pressure out of the 3 technique spot.

I don't see anything wrong with adding 2 DT's in this draft. I mean we draft zero most years.

Numbers for Crawford may not have been as good but he was basically playing with one arm for almost the whole season.

Yeah, I watched the entire South Practice yesterday and while none of their QBs looked like much to me I thought Brisset may have stood out the very least. Prescott may have a good game because of his mobility but his arm looks sub par to me. The best looking of the group from what I have seen is probably Coker.
Agree to disagree, IMO Coker held on to the ball way to long.

The funny thing about that is his numbers didn't look as good in 2014 but I thought he was a much more disruptive player. It very well could be that his arm was shot all season. Hopefully next year we get that 2014 version because he was a terror at times then.

Five biggest NFL draft risers at Senior Bowl

Both Carson Wentz and Braxton Miller improved their draft stock this week in Mobile. Getty Images, AP Photo

MOBILE, Ala. -- This was one of the better weeks of Senior Bowl practices in recent memory. Phil Savage and his team deserve a lot of credit for putting together two rosters with good talent from top to bottom.

Here are the players who helped their draft stocks the most in the three practices this week.

Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State

Wentz's physical tools are obvious. He's a big, strong kid with an awesome arm and good mobility. He passed the test, showing he could make all the necessary throws. What's perhaps more impressive -- or more revelatory -- is the way he carried himself. When he wasn't getting physical reps, he made a point to listen to the call in the huddle so he could still get mental reps. You can tell Wentz just loves football. Within a QB class that doesn't really have a clear-cut top guy right now, Wentz made a strong case to be the No. 1 passer off the board. (And oh by the way, he did it while being coached by the staff of the Dallas Cowboys, who pick at No. 4 overall and could be in the market to draft Tony Romo's long-term successor.) It's hard to imagine this week going much better for Wentz.

Braxton Miller, WR/RS, Ohio State

Let's start with his size: As a wide receiver and return specialist, Miller's measurables (6-foot-1, 204 pounds) are exactly what NFL scouts are looking for. He has good length and he's lean, which enables him to move effortlessly on the field. Miller wowed with his change-of-direction ability in both individual drills and one-on-ones, looking the part of a polished wide receiver (check out the videos below). That's impressive stuff for a guy who has been playing the position for less than a year. This was an important week for Miller, who wasn't used a ton as a receiver in his final season at Ohio State (just 26 receptions) and needed to prove to NFL scouts that he was more than just a gadget player at the next level. If his tape from this week is any indication, Miller has the looks of someone who could really star at the combine next month.

Sheldon Rankins, DT, Louisville

We've been trying to tell you about this guy for a while. Rankins followed up his best season at Louisville with a standout performance in Mobile. On Wednesday, in particular, he was impossible for offensive linemen to handle in one-on-ones, using his violent hands, impressive first step and powerful lower-body to penetrate the backfield. In the process, he proved to any remaining doubters that he's more than just a gap-plugger. At 6-foot-2, 303 pounds, Rankins -- who tweaked his knee Thursday and will not play in Saturday's game -- displayed great movement ability for a guy his size. Combine Rankins' tape, which shows he has plenty of scheme versatility, with his performance this week, and he's starting to look more and more like a first-round talent.

Noah Spence, DE, Eastern Kentucky

Spence came to Mobile with a lot to prove after transferring from Ohio State due to two drug-related suspensions, and he was flat-out dominant the last two practices of the week. He showed terrific burst and explosiveness. You just don't find a lot of athletes who can dip and bend around the edge like him. Spence is a better pass-rusher than run defender, but on several occasions this week, he displayed the ability to stack and shed. There are obvious character concerns here -- and you can bet teams will dig into his past to see if he's worth the risk -- but solely in terms of on-field ability, Spence has top-15 talent. He might be the best pure edge rusher in this class.

Jason Spriggs, LT, Indiana

Spriggs was the best pure left tackle prospect in Mobile. He passed the first test of the week, with his arms measuring 34[ inches. That gives Spriggs a lot of upside, when you factor in his quick feet and natural ability as a pass protector. He's not a road-grader in the run game -- and that's OK. NFL teams will be enticed by his athleticism after watching him hold his own in one-on-one drills against a good group of pass-rushers.

The Scout's Report
— The biggest buzz to come out of Mobile, Alabama, during Senior Bowl week is that the Tennessee Titans are absolutely shopping the No. 1 pick in the draft. The teams most likely to be interested? According to general managers I've spoken with from competing teams, the Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Rams (with two second-round picks).

— Whether the Cleveland Browns keep the No. 2 pick in the draft or trade up, the expectation from NFL sources is that they will target a quarterback. I've heard all week from team scouts that they prefer the big arm of Carson Wentz over the accuracy and poise of Jared Goff.

— Robert Nkemdiche's hotel incident made big news, but sources I spoke with this week at the area scout level still think he'll be in play as a top-five pick. I've heard from the San Diego Chargers and Dallas Cowboys that both teams are doing extensive visits and background research on him.

— Talking to sources close to linebacker Myles Jack, he is reportedly one month ahead of schedule in his rehab from a torn meniscus that ended his 2015 season. Jack has rare ability to move in space and could very well be a top-five pick in April.
— The top-ranked linebacker in this class, Jaylon Smith, is still a lock to go top-15, according to team sources. Smith, who tore his ACL and LCL in the Fiesta Bowl, is already back rehabbing two times a day, according to sources close to the player. One team to keep an eye on is the New Orleans Saints. I'm told there is a lot of like for him at weak-side linebacker on their board.

— It's no secret the Dallas Cowboys need to get younger at quarterback behind Tony Romo, and sources I talked to this week from a competing team don't expect owner Jerry Jones to pull the trigger on a passer with the No. 4 pick in the draft. Instead, look for Robert Griffin III or Johnny Manziel to be in Dallas next year.

Get ready for it.

We won't take a QB at #4... put our hopes on Romo and one of the overhyped QB's we sign.

Nkemdiche is in play at #4. So instead of a possible franchise QB we may end up with a reach for at DL who is known for taking plays/games off. If not him, then probably Jack or Ramsey.

You could take teams in the top 5 doing research on him one way or the other. The first (and most likely) scenario is that they're doing their homework on a talented guy who could drop to the top of the 2nd, the other is that they are considering him in the top 5, which I doubt is the case.

Where did it say Nkemdiche is in play for us at 4.

What if he drops, what if we trade down?

They were saying the same things about Gregory last year and he dropped to the bottom of the 2nd.

In another thread you were questioning if any of these QB's were even worth a top 5 pick now this.:lol

Yeah, I've come to not really trust much that comes from Bleacherreport in all honesty. Hell I think most of the Manziel/Griffin stuff is just grasping based on Aikman's opinion and Jerry's comment about not necessarily drafting a QB.

Bleacher Report is not the same as it used to be. It seems to be a haven now for guys that couldn't make it elsewhere, at least accomplished writers versus fan bloggers.

No it did not, it said Nkemdiche might still be in play in the top 5 and then said we had done background on him.

That's a lot gap filling to get we are interested in him at 4.
If the guy is not interesting to the team, why on earth would they go through the hassle?

Yeah they are as reliable as most places but like everybody else everything is rumours and whispers at this point.

Nobody should take anything they hear or read with much weight at this time.

So they have moved up from fan bloggers to hacks that suck and couldn't keep their jobs. They are about as untrustworthy of an "accomplished" site as they come.

Who said he is not interesting?

He could be in play at 34 or later in the 1st if they trade down.

I guess the Cowboys and the Chargers are the only ones doing background and it's just for the top 5.
