Seahawks working out 4 possible backup QBs. I'm expecting Pete Carroll to chose between Matt Leinart and Brady Quinn. Tie-breaker to ML

Sounding like Seahawks were most impressed with Brady Quinn at yesterday's 4-QB tryout and will pursue signing to be Russell Wilson's backup

Eagles trade Dion Lewis to Browns
Posted by Mike Wilkening on April 11, 2013, 11:32 AM EDT

The Eagles have dealt Dion Lewis to Cleveland for linebacker Emmanuel Acho, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Thursday.

Last week, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Lewis was available in trade.

Lewis (5-8, 195) rushed for 69 yards on 13 carries for the Eagles in 2012. The third-year back from Pitt will be just 22 years old when the regular season begins. Lewis will compete with veterans Montario Hardesty and Chris Ogbonnaya for playing time behind starter Trent Richardson.

The amount of opportunities Lewis could get in Cleveland figures to be tied to how the Browns use Richardson, who had 267 carries and 51 receptions in 15 games as a rookie. Any reduction in passing-game work for Richardson would give some of the other backs more of a chance to contribute.

Acho, 22, likely projects inside in the Eagles’ 3-4 scheme. He spent the 2012 season on injured reserve with Cleveland. According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, a leg injury sidelined Acho, who was a sixth-round pick of the Browns last April. He recorded 280 tackles in four seasons at the University of Texas.

Player-for-player NFL trades don’t happen often, but the Eagles have now made a pair in a two-week span. On March 28, the Eagles dealt fullback Stanley Havili to Indianapolis for defensive lineman Clifton Geathers.

There's high level of mutual interest between #Bengals & James Harrison. Contract talks could ramp up this weekend when 2 sides speak again

Ravens signed Rolando McClain. He was a guy I would have liked to get in on.

He doesn't fit particularly well in a 4-3, more of a 3-4 ILB. He might be able to play SLB in a 4-3 but I like Durant better there.

Jets hope Saints will take a late-round pick for Chris Ivory

Posted by Michael David Smith on April 13, 2013, 12:38 PM EDT

The Saints put a second-round tender on restricted free agent running back Chris Ivory, but the Jets are hoping to get him from New Orleans for less than that.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that Ivory visited the Jets’ facility on Friday, and the Jets are interested in acquiring him. However, they are not interested in giving up their second-round draft pick, No. 39 overall, to get him. So the Jets won’t be signing Ivory to a restricted free agent offer sheet.

Instead, the Jets are hoping that they can both agree to a contract with Ivory and agree to terms with the Saints on a trade that would bring Ivory to New York for a late-round pick.

Ivory has played well in limited action since joining the Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2010. In three years he has played in 24 games with 10 starts, carrying 256 times for 1,307 yards (a 5.1-yard average) and eight touchdowns. With the Saints he has struggled to get consistent playing time in a crowded backfield that also includes Pierre Thomas, Darren Sproles and Mark Ingram. But with the Jets he’d have a chance of earning the starting job in a backfield that currently consists of Bilal Powell, Mike Goodson and Joe McKnight.
---------------

This would be a good pickup for a mid-round pick.
