Who gives a shit if there are concerts and bowl games there, besides the guy pocketing the profits and drooling idiots?

I'd rather play our home games in an abandoned lot if it gave us an actual home field advantage.
Texas Stadium was a damned dump. But back when we were winning, it was our dump. I went to games there when we were actually good and it was as loud as any other stadium I went to.

I don't think the Cowboys will never have a homefield advantage in AT&T.

AT&T is more of an all-purpose stadium (college football, basketball, boxing, soccer, concerts, X-games) than Cowboys stadium. That said, I don't think the stadium is turning people off football-wise. It's more likely the residue of 8-8.

Agreed. I went to games in Texas Stadium. And I thought it was great. Sure, it wasn't nearly as 'modern' as a lot of other places, but it had a history. And I do think we had an advantage playing there. From the hole in the roof putting the heat and sun on the visiting sideline, to the crown on the field.

I thought it was loud there, too. Certainly not as quiet as you'd hear people say it was. This new place might be nice and a wonder to look at, but it will never have any kind of homefield advantage. At least not one that could make a sizeable difference like Seattle, Green Bay, Denver, etc...

But it has a big ass video screen and titty dancers. Definitely has titty dancers...

because of how the stadium is constructed or the placid fans?

Funny how Seattle is viewed as a fan frenzied city now when it never was in the past.

Denver has had the rep. Green Bay, maybe. But Seattle in the Kingdome was not exactly a house of terrors.

Paul Allen built that stadium with the ambiance in mind. He was not interested in doing anything else with it.

If Jones were even remotely interested in building a stadium with football advantages, he could have.

He chose not to.

Maybe you are getting fan apathy confused with fan greed. I could understand it if the Cowboys were losing. There would be a strong case for apathy. They are not losing. It sifts out as fan greed to me.

I don't think they make that much after you figure in the psl and fee from ticketexchange/paypal, remember someone over at the zone saying he had season tickets for the few times he was in town and sold the rest and he actually took a loss on some games and did well to break even at the end of the year

I'm sure some have taken losses but I'll bet They didn't intend to. Their intent was to make a few bucks.

I'm a bit conflicted on this. Maybe only @L.T. Fan can confirm this. I understand people had the same gripes about brand new Texas Stadium, pricing out the Cotton Bowl true fans for the wine & cheese fans.

So, on one hand, I feel like maybe we'll just grow into Cowboys Stadium.

On the other hand, I loved Texas Stadium. I compare it to going to church. You wanna focus on God and everything in a church revolves around the altar. Texas Stadium had no flashy lights and everything was oriented to the field. The statue of Tom Landry greeted you as you walked in.

Try to focus on God in the middle of a damn Vegas casino and that's what Cowboys Stadium is like. I'm surprised there haven't been reports of epileptic shock - from go-go dancers to multiple rings of LED banner adds to the Ford/Chevy plazas to Jerrytron. Can't even tell there's a Ring of Honor.

That's what my dad always said. He remembers the Cotton Bowl fans being loud and rowdy before they were all replaced with Doctors and Lawyers.

I don't think the Cowboys Stadium will ever have the home field advantage of some teams however there are some factors making it worse now that it could potentially be down the road. It's a combination of the new stadium being a marvel that lots of fans of other teams want to go see and the fact that we haven't made the playoffs in a long time.

As the Cowboys Stadium settle in and people have already been there and done that I think you will see less fans of other teams travel to town to load up our stadium. I also think if Dallas can put a better product on the field (Winning some games) over an extended period of time that we will see a greater home field advantage.

There is a blue collar versus white collor struggle in every audience participation situation. Football stadiums are no exception. Believe it or not the Cowboys have always had a dominant blue collar audience in majority at the games. One of the largest fan segments are the Mexican Americans. With the new stadium that part of the attendees seems to have shrunk. The prices have affected the mix but another factor is the relocation to Arlington. It is very inconvenient to what was once loyal followers in the greater Dallas metroplex. I am a causality of this particular circumstance myself. These who did buy in have found it is more convenient to stay at home and sell their tickets. They still buy because of the steep licensing fee they paid. If they don't buy then that is forfeited. I know people in this circumstance and they will continue to buy but they will also continue to sell the tickets.

Listened to The Herd yesterday and many callers and e-mailers pointed out that they sold their early season tickets to pay for overall season tickets. With the low expectations and high prices...plus ATT Stadium being a tourist destination now...that makes sense.

I did think the crowd was really good vs New Orleans, but historically I can't really ever remember a time where teams dreaded coming to play the Cowboys because of crowd noise and whatnot.

I said this very thing aloud Sunday.

There must be some kind of major disclaimer in every ticket agreement, because you could see the giant jumbotron flashing "3RD DOWN!" in huge letters and rapidly alternating white and black backgrounds.

That's instant seizure material for most epileptics.

Yeah. I think I pointed out the "tourism" thing a few weeks back when I indicated it is like a trip to Disneyland for some. That was when the discussion first started with all the Niner fans making a raid on the stadium.

Once Jerry takes over NFL ticket exchange for ATT Stadium and gets a cut of the resale it will be over and done with.

The games in Arlington might as well all be road games at that point. He might boost Cowboy fan attendance on the road, but we'll never crack places like Seattle where the fans actually give a shit.

Why are you so quick to down every Dallas Fan. Even the ones who sold the tickets still watch the same and root for the Cowboys. Selling you ticket doesn't make you a bad fan.It fits makes you selfish fan.

I blame the corporate ticket holders who resell just for the sake of it, but it's not just hem.

Why profess to be a fan, go so far as to buy season tickets and pay a crazy PSL, only to undermine the team by selling to people you know are rooting for the competition?

I guess it's too much to ask for someone to resell to other Cowboys fans.

And what kind of fucked up fan sells out the season opener, under any circumstance? Tony Romo has every right to be disappointed.

Pretty sure it doesn't say on ticketexchange or stubhub what team the buyer is a fan of.

Corporate ticket holders usually give the tickets away to clients or use them as some sort of employee reward. Believe me when I say those ticket recipients are Dallas fans and will show up. These type ticket holders are not the problem.
