Kam Chancellor.

He is the wave of the future at S. Hits like a LBer, runs like a CB, is tall and strong enough to battle athletic TEs. His game is not perfect-- but he has the traits the S position needs to succeed in today's NFL.
Wave of the future? You just described Darren Woodson

You guys do realize Matt Johnson will be back next year, right? S is taken care of.

Tells you how good Woodson really was that we still can't find a replacement.

The safety situation is a lot like QB used to be. Trotting out a bunch of retards to try to replace an all timer.

Jones said he thought DeMarcus Ware would have a strong year because he was healthy, that Anthony Spencer was getting ready to put back-to-back years together, that Jay Ratliff could regain his Pro Bowl form after battling injuries for two years and that 2012 third-round pick Tyrone Crawford was “our up-and-coming star, if you will.”
What an unbelievably stupid set of things to expect, especially the last 2.

Kam Chancellor also gets a lot of help from a pretty great FS in Thomas too though.

If you have a good FS, it frees you up to do a lot of other things with your SS (and your coverage in general)
Yah… agreed. Thomas is good and he's only going to get better.

Maybe in terms of Woodson's ability to cover TEs and run… Chancellor is more intimidating than Woodson was hands down.
I don't know about hands down.

I don't recall Woodson having that true "feared hitter" reputation. He was a hard hitter and a great tackler, but never like a Steve Atwater.
