Deion made huge changes to the program very quickly and caught a load of resistance and nay-saying in the process, some of it openly from the media. Some of it was said about his own son. Deion is talking to those people.

I enjoyed seeing Jethro Pugh still on the field. D.D. Lewis (Mississippi State) played with more power than I remembered.

I had a lot of fun watching this January 1978 championship game. It's like time travel.

    2023 Random Cowboys Stuff Thread

Lance has raw talent, a good attitude, seems to be free of character concerns, and is only 23. He's underdeveloped and quite inexperienced. Keeping him around as a down roster QB for a couple of seasons isn't a bad idea. If I had to put numbers to it, I'd guess there's roughly a 50% chance that...

Heck, maybe he can be the closer too ... the guy who grinds clock to close out the game.

    Post-Cut Questions

Yeah. The OL was good last year, especially before Steele went down. Stepping back for a minute and taking a 10,000 foot view, it's really something just how central the Cowboys OL has been to the Cowboys best teams of the past 30 years. Jimmy's dynasty-era Cowboys had a truly great OL, of...

    Post-Cut Questions

I'm excited about the season. The reliance on S/LB hybrids heightens the importance of Hankins and Mazi eating double-teams and shielding the second-level. Pushing the pocket would be optimal, but if the 1-tech can regularly occupy two OL, this defense should be in excellent shape. The...

    2023 Cowboys Practice Squad Signings

Between Land and McKeon, I'd rather have McKeon available. It would have been nice to have Land too, though. Good luck to Cox. It was time for him to move on, I think.

I thought Brown was a competent player during most of his career. Not great, not terrible. Toward the end of his time in Dallas, I thought his performance dropped off. Noah Igbinoghene played WR in high school and during his freshman year at Auburn, then switched to CB. Diggs made a similar...

Cowboys Trade for QB Trey Lance

Ya'll remember that in the playoffs last year, there was talk of Dak running more given the higher stakes of those games. But they don't want Dak running much during the regular season due to potential injury concerns. He's not the same runner now as he was at Mississippi State or earlier in...

He has talent and strengths as a player, but I don't trust Kelvin Joseph to avoid critical mistakes. I'd rather him play elsewhere. I don't know enough about Igbinoghene to have an opinion, but thinking cynically, it probably helps Jerry's ego that he got a 1st round pick for his 2nd round...

Luepke had 58 rushing yards and averaged 5.8 per carry. He caught 5 passes for 60 yards and one touchdown. He blocked well too. He's not a flashy player, but I'd take those numbers from a role player any day.

Luepke seems like a natural fit for McCarthy's scheme. It'd be short-sighted not to work him in. He adds more than McKeon.
