It's no coincidence that holding was the refs penalty of choice against us all last year.
Connor Williams probably netted one or two unfair penalties because of his reputation for holding. I wonder if that has worked against the entire team as well. As for an actual ref conspiracy, that sounds like post-game loser talk.

Smith's technique is sloppy here with high pads and high hands, getting him in a position where he's belly to belly and making it more likely that a flag is thrown as the DL tries to move one way or the other.

I don't personally think it's a flag, it's extremely borderline and I've seen way worse ignored, but there is room to clean up his technique so he isn't getting himself into compromising positions like that.
I am telling you, they are trained to watch our LG, no matter who it is.

In no way should that be a hold. It's not even borderline in my book. I see this and I seriously wonder what the hell the refs are thinking. If that's a hold you might as well just give up now because you're not winning football games. Because the refs don't call that against other teams.

That was the first one and definitely was not a penalty, the second one was borderline but is called sometimes, that one was ridiculous.

I'm glad the refs were calling us so tight last night, especially Smith, because it needs to be a point of emphasis, but if this was a regular season game I'd have been livid.

This penalty, the roughing the passers on Williams and Basham and the offsides on Williams (which I think may have also been on the Basham roughing the passer) were completely phantom.

Yea I've seen it called at times but it's usually let go, and I see worse ignored every week.

I just hope this isn't how we'll be reffed in the regular season because it makes the games unwatchable.

Now this one I get a little. It's not holding but the guy goes to the ground. In a bang bang play I could see how the ref may think a guy got held but didn't. A play like this I can at least understand a refs thinking a little. Although I'd say if you can't see a hold don't call it. You shouldn't call penalties based on the end result if you didn't see what happened. But again, I get it. Like a WR who flops and PI is called despite the DB not actually grabbing him.

I think it's borderline but it happened for a split second and it's the type of play they should ignore every time.

I'm the opposite. I don't see this one at all.

Gosh, I wish I had clips of the Broncos Oline. Watch the game, there are multiple lineman doing worse than that on every play for them. It's like playing with 2 different rule books.

Oh just to be clear it's not holding. But again, guy falls on the ground, ref sees the result and body position and just assumes he was tackled to the ground. He wasn't, but that's a mistake refs make often in my opinion.

Although where the ref was standing, it should have been easy to see it wasn't a hold. Pretty fucking clear view.

Why the fuck would they assume holding though? If you don't see it, don't call it.

There are way too many damn flags as it is without their assuming anything.

Even putting fairness or Cowboys bias aside, it's making the games unwatchable.

In preseason none the less. These games are almost unwatchable as is. To make them even worse to watch makes zero sense.

Jesus didn't see a replay last night but that's awful. Nothing else he could have been done. Played it exactly the way the NFL wants players to. I hate it because that's what I want Williams to do. And now it really fucks with a player and he has no idea how he is supposed to play that.

You say learn from the penalties but what do you do there. You don't go high, you don't go low, you don't fall on the QB. And you aren't late with the hit. So how does our young pass rusher learn from that? Um hey, just slow down and let the QB throw the ball.
