On further review, that was one of the worst NFL games I've ever seen. The defense is completely unwatchable and unacceptable. (Breaking news.)

Don't think I've said that since, oh, the Carolina game.

I know we had practice squad guys in the secondary, but something else is going on. I still say I bet Nolanflus has lost the team, or at least is on the verge. Very unlikable person. You know those guys who try to give their friends the needle, but are so unfunny and serious they just come off as an asshole? That's him.

And of course the problem is he's Jerry's boy, so who knows how long he'll hold on to him, no matter how embarrassing things get. I have no idea why Jerry or Stephen took such a shine to him -- it's not like we had great defenses when he was here. We can only hope Jerry can be convinced to shitcan him like Nolan so he doesn't influence our draft room, but I'm not optimistic.

One other random thing... And maybe it's just because @Simpleton mentioned it a month or two ago... but trying to read the tea leaves with Jerry and Stephen, I think it's a real possibility that Jerry for whatever reason took back the reins a couple of years ago. Stephen in his interviews seems a little more detached than he was, and sometimes gives the impression he isn't on board with some moves. It was pretty obvious to me he didn't agree with trading Micah.

That's not even to sell hope, because there's no indication Stephen would be good with deddy out of the way, but things might not be this bad.

It's hard to tell because I think Jerry injects himself at random times.

He definitely was the one running things with the Micah situation because it was such a personal thing to him.

But something like drafting Booker at 12?

Probably didn't have much to do with that.

True, it's not like he's making every decision.

But he can make enough to fuck things up.

I think he's making every decision. Even if it's just rubber stamping it, or saying something like "I agree with Stephen/ Will/ whomever", he's either directly deciding or approving every single thing of consequence.

Right, socks and jocks and all that.

Guess we're just saying not all the moves originate with him. But he's responsible for it all, as he loves to remind us.

Dunno if it’s been discussed already but I just want to throw out there that as well as Dak has been playing this year, he’s not a great QB when he has to play from behind or at least not really far behind.

If we’re down one score needing a TD to win, then I have all the confidence in the world in Dak to give us a chance to win.

But it seems to me that if we get down more than two scores, Dak starts trying to force things and ends up throwing a costly pick.

I think that's most QB's though, and he did bring us back impressively against the Packers but that was at home and the defense managed a turnover that gave us the ball around the 15 or so.

We'll see how the rest of the year goes but no QB in the league is winning that game yesterday in Denver, against that defense, with their own defense playing that poorly.

I do think yesterday was the first time we saw him start pressing knowing the defense had little to no shot to stop the opposing offense.

I also think Schotty wasn’t doing Dak any favors with his play calling.

No excuse for settling for a FG on the first trip to the red zone.
