So who is everyone’s favorite RB? Who we rooting to draft? Brooks is always linked, Wright too, I got a thing for Corum/Allen.
I think Benson and Lloyd are my two favorite. But I like your guys too. There are a lot of RBs I like in this draft but I think Lloyd and Benson are my two favorite.

I see no scenario of us trading up. The two Oline thing wouldn't shock me. Notice she said Oline and not LT. I think center is high on our board.

And the last part about Brooks is really stupid but wouldn't shock me. This isn't a draft where one RB is so clearly better than the rest that you should have your butt clinched over the guy. But wouldn't shock me if they fell in love with Brooks. We all expect it.

And here is my take on Brooks, he doesn't really have liabilities. I don't think he has any glaring weakness. You don't look at him and go, well he can't catch the ball, he can't pick up a blitz, he can't make a guy miss, he can't hit the big play. But there is the obvious injury and part of me also looks and him and doesn't see a lot of special either. He isn't as elusive as Wright, he isn't as powerful as a lot of RB's in this class. He is just good at a lot of things. I'm ok with Brooks but I'm ok with a lot of backs. And I think this team needs more of a between the tackles guy. Just watching the way we sort of used Pollard last year, we like to run up the gut on simple runs a lot. I don't think that's really Brooks game.

He got hurt in Nov and I know people recover fast these days, but that is a concern. I mean bro is exciting, but will he be limited in camp and the season?

I think these are more informed guesses than the actual relaying of direct conversations of plans. For example, there's almost no chance the Eagles burn a 2 on a RB after making Barkley like the 3rd highest paid RB in the league.
Yeah, I was like…why are the Eagles gonna take a RB?

Yeah, I think the Eagles have been cute in the past jumping us and taking the guy they think Dallas will take. So I think it's just a made up scenario over the pettiness of the Eagles. But if they want to take Brooks to prevent Dallas from getting him, I say go for it. Go ahead and waste a second round pick to back up the RB you just paid big dollars to. I'd actually love for them to do that.

Besides, why should the Eagles be concerned about us like that. You're competing against 31 other NFL teams for a Superbowl. Dallas isn't even your biggest challenge. Would be really dumb to focus on somehow trying to hurt us like that.

I think he will be ready to play by the start of the season. But why risk it? And even if he is healthy enough to play, who knows if he will be back to form right away or ever. Just seems like a really unnecessary risk. This isn't a first round talent at RB that you're only having a shot at in the second round because of injury. It's a second round RB that you're having a shot at in the second round.

The Eagles could rightfully kill us with the way they have signed players and maneuvered to get picks.

But they keep missing the target in the draft.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I'd be flummoxed if they did that.

Yeah, I just don't think they are great at scouting the draft. Thank god for us because they could easily be so much better.

Yeah, I think the concern is that he doesn't allow get low enough. It's hard to do when you're what? 6'8"? He is going to need to learn how to sink his hips more when blocking. Otherwise these shorter, more powerful, fast DE's could give him trouble in my opinion. You might be thinking, well Mims is also 6'8" but Mims is powerful. He is also about 20 pounds heavier and just looks a lot stronger.
The main reason I have Mims ahead of Guyton is because he's much more explosive in the run game and able to displace guys from gaps. Guyton is fine, not a liability, but he just kind of gets in the way and holds the POA.

With that said, there are more injury concerns with Mims, he might just be one of these tightly wound physical freaks who is constantly pulling a hamstring or whatever.

Honestly, that's just gross. Like you need a lavish mansion with a pool just to hold your draft.

And I'm with booze on the podcast. I don't want Brooks at all. I'll be rooting for someone else to take him way before we even have a chance.

This is my concern as well. Sometimes a dude is just so big and athletic that it's almost like their body can't hold up because of it. Part of the reason he hasn't started more is because of injuries. He also got hurt at the combine. I have the same worry you do to. It's sort of the Mekhi Becton effect. And we have seen it with other highly drafted NFL O-lineman.

And at LT, I think you worry less about a guy being a bulldozer in the run game. I want bulldozer's so that's hard for me to say. But ultimately LT's tend to be the more athletic guys because they are going against smaller, freakish athletes at RE. It's why I think some are of the opinion that Tyler Smith is wasted a bit at LT because his freakish power is less important there. As long as Guyton isn't giving up ground I'm ok with him not being the most dominant run blocker. But what I hate are the dudes who can get between the defender and the QB but end up in the QB's way because they give up too much ground. Or they get knocked backwards in the run game and you can't get the outside runs as a result. Again, if he can figure out how to sink his hips better I think he will be good.

I think putting Guyton next to an enforcer-type like Tyler would make some sense. I'd love to have a guy like Fautanu paired with Tyler but that's just no realistic at this point.
