Yeah, I don't think Sapp was a good choice by any means. I just figured that would be the spin the NFL put on it. I think the real reason they picked him was because he's a big name, hall of famer, and still relevant because he's a talking head on television (aka "he got cred").

I guess you could say he's been through it and can advise how not to make the mistakes he made... But it's more likely that these guys are just more likely to have "cred" with the incoming rooks.

    The Great Police Work Thread

It's easy for the lay person to get mixed up. Premeditation can be proof of intent, but you can have intent without premeditation. You can have intent to kill a person in a self-defense situation, but if it's true self-defense, there is no premeditation. You can have intent to kill your...

    The Great Police Work Thread

You're right... Texas doesn't require premeditation. It's an intent element, which is often conflated with premeditation.

He said something to the effect of, "Some of you aren't going to be able to stay out of trouble." Sage advice from the NFL Hall of Famer. You are in the top .005% of all football players in the world. Your drive and athletic ability is unmatched. But expect them to follow the law? C'MON, MAN!!!

Machota: Jerry Jones We have enough moving parts, no need to move La’el Collins to T

My simple non-football coach opinion is that the staff want Collins to focus on one spot in camp, not get overwhelmed... and partly to give him a shot at starting. I think we all recognized when he was drafted that Collins had a shot to push Leary out of the lineup. Hasn't played out that way...

James Harrison won’t let his sons accept participation trophies

I haven't seen any post in this thread that says this.

Now that's a legitimate gripe. His address to the ball and the whole visualizing thing takes a while. I don't see why he doesn't start it before it's actually his turn to play.

IJS if you want to hate on a dude because golf announcers bring up things that you may think are overblown, there are other stories that are brought up that arguably could be seen the same way. Moral of the story... if you base your opinion of a guy based on how golf announcers talk about them...

I guess you could be a dick and be tired that Jordan Spieth's autistic sister is brought up every week. He's such a trooper for supporting her like that... What do you expect, that he would disown her?

James Harrison won’t let his sons accept participation trophies

Some things are recognition for participating, some things aren't. Trophies historically don't go out to participants. Letters on a high school letter jacket have always been about participating. In my high school you added patches for winning shit. The guy who had just one letter on his...

It's beyond me how anyone can dislike Jason Day. Nothing I've seen indicates he's used vertigo as an excuse or is touting himself as better than anyone else because of it. He's been nothing but class in everything I've seen him do.
