I think he expected the Cowboys to want him long term. He was expecting a 14 mil type market and probably could have got close to it last offseason. Not so much this offseason. Just a little butt hurt over the situation. Some guys just don't like getting the franchise tag.

Mostly some of the radio guys like Bryan and others have mentioned it.
Schultz has to know the franchise money he got last year was a gift from God.

He is nowhere near being a difference maker in this league and made his name lapping up leftovers off Cooper, Lamb, and Gallup’s plates.

I love Schultzy, but the next TE in line seems to be pretty good as well.

We don't need a 15 year guy like Witten, so keep a truly hungry player in the position and continue looking for quality in the draft.

Yeah I like the concept of shuffling and developing TEs. The only way I'm resigning one to any sort of money is if I strike gold and find a really special guy like Kelce or Kittle. And those are rare in the NFL.

THIS completely.
Unless a TE is elite they aren't usually a big impact player and aren't worth a big deal. Decent TEs are pretty easy to find, just like RBs. Only difference being that TEs obviously don't have nearly as short of a lifespan.

Or as much early career success. TEs take real time to develop.
