No way you choose Elliott over Cooper if you had to choose.

The main issue here is that as usual he is bullshitting because the truth is they could have kept all 3 if they really wanted to. They didn't have to cut Cooper to keep Elliott and Pollard.
You are thinking way too deep into this.

I am struggling to understand why he is the only decision maker in the NFL who talks about a horrible transaction that happened a year ago and then tried to actually spin it as a positive to justify another horrible transaction.

Because he had an ulterior motive and he's defensive about it since it was such an obvious mistake.

The insulting of our collective intelligence continues.
That's because the average Cowboys fan will happily accept that excuse and will then direct all of their anger and frustration towards the players for having the audacity to ask for a salary commensurate to their market value.

Meanwhile, they'll completely ignore the fact that there are other teams in the same boat as the Cowboys, but somehow those other teams still find a way to add top level free agents. It must be magic.
