Yeah it's hard for me from a production standpoint. He just doesn't have it. But from the guys who watch his tapes it sounds like when he does play he blows them away. Do you want to bank on a pass rusher who has topped out at 3.5 sacks in college in a season though? Is it always injuries, is it scheme or what is holding this guy back?
It's the scheme, Georgia's top defensive prospects never put up big stats, it's just the way they heavily rotate and how heavily they use twists/stunts to free up blitzing LB's for sacks while asking their DL to occupy blockers to open up the loops/blitzing lanes.

Travon Walker put up 7.5 TFL and 6 sacks in 2021 with only 13 TFL and 9.5 sacks total over 3 years. Jalen Carter put up 7 TFL and 3 sacks last season with only 18.5 and 6 over his career.

Nolan Smith had 8 and 4.5 in 2021 and 7 and 3 through only 8 games last year, if you project that over the 15 games they played if he hadn't gotten hurt that would've been 13 TFL and 5.5 sacks, both of which would've led the team.

This is pretty much spot on. Muschamp runs a heavy rotation.

Yeah it's why I struggle a little with Georgia defensive players. It's not as easy to project a guy who plays less than half the snaps to what he would actually do if he played 90 percent of the snaps.

Of course. Wilson is a Red Raider afterall.
And one of the top LBers in this draft.

Sitting out with the hammy is a big one.
That's the only real red flag to me. Not running a forty at the Combine? Not so much. Hell some first round guys last year didn't even run a forty. Drake London, healthy basically said thanks but no thanks. I'd rather him run. Hell go run a 4.55, I don't care. But I'm not handing out red flags to everyone who doesn't run at the combine.

He should want to run to show what he can do. But fine, rest on tape a year old and kill your Pro Day I guess.

I agree, I'd tell him to run. If he fucks it up fix it at the proday or personal workout or whatever. I think these kids get bad advice though.
