I got how Marinelli got to chicago, how did loyalty play a part in Marinelli coming to Dallas as the title suggests?

I think they meant the only reason he was available to come to Dallas was because he left Chicago out of loyalty.

The dude is a good coach. I don't care what anyone says.
His downfall in Chicago was not employing a good offensive coordinator and integrating both sides of the football. And yes, I include Mike Martz in that. You can't just hire the guy and turn it over to them. That's a mistake and it appears that's part of Garrett's problem too.

You can almost say Smith didn't understand winning offensive football. I would be fine with him as a HC but his selection of OCs and his input to that side of the football would have to improve.

Not always.
I don't believe this to be true.

You could easily argue Romo's prime years have been wasted with Garrett on the staff. I don't see him being much better now than he was the first year he took over.

Dallas Cowboys DL coach Rod Marinelli wrestled a bear once...seriously

Rod Marinelli, the first-year Dallas Cowboys defensive line coach, wrestled a bear once.

Seriously.

A 2007 article by Nicholas J. Cotsonika of the Detroit Free Press detailed Marinelli's experience via a couple of Marinelli's old Rosemead (Calif.) High School buddies.

The event occurred in 1966, the article states. Marinelli is getting ready to tackle different bears of sorts this Sunday when the Cowboys head north to face Chicago.

But nearly 50 years ago, Marinelli apparently showed no fear when dealing with bears (although it was de-clawed and muzzled).

Marinelli and two of his friends, Gary Schram and Don Gomez, were cruising down the street and saw a car dealership advertising an interesting deal: wrestle "Victor the Bear" for $10, Cotsonika wrote. The 'wrestle-the-bear' shtick was run by a Russian guy, according to Schram and Gomez

The high school senior then went home to change into his wrestling gear before heading back to face Victor, according to the article.

Then the real fun began.

"It was cold, the mat was all wet, and this bear was smelly, let me tell you," Schram told Cotsonika. "So we put the money up there, and in goes Rod. Rod did then what he does now: He went in to win."

"There was no hesitation on the guy's part," Gomez told the Free Press. "He flew into that thing."

"And let me tell you," Schram added, "he had that bear on his back in about 10 seconds."

Marinelli actually performed rather well, Gomez and Schram told the Free Press, but unfortunately was not declared the winner.

Cotsonika wrote: "The Russian guy declared Victor the victor. Schram and Gomez said they cheated. Marinelli tried to be a good sport."

"Rod goes over to shake the bear's hand," Gomez told Cotsonika, laughing. "The bear doesn't know he's coming to shake hands. The bear attacked him again."

According to Gomez and Schram, that was just Marinelli's mentality.
