I don't know if he will ever amount to much but his personality is very enjoyable which has me rooting for the guy. NT's are hard to predict. They aren't always the most talented college guys, they aren't always high draft picks and they don't always flash right away. But if a dude put in the work, has the size and strength and I think ultimately he could be a good player for us. I at least feel good that Ridgeway will work his ass off.

I'm not as sold on him for some reason. Although he weighs enough, he seems a little tall and lanky for what you usually think of as a true NT. Still think booze's comparison to Urban is a good one.

Non-PC comment ahead: In my tiny little insignificant football "career", the white boys from the sort of sketchy neighborhoods were the meanest players out there. Not the best athletes, but they punched above their weight because they had half a screw loose. This guy kind of seems like that, or at least talks like it.

I'm not usually impressed by talk, though. Anyone can talk.

No what impresses me about this kid is his history. He was basically a pathetic highschool wrestler getting his ass kicked all over the place. He worked his butt off and by his Senior year I think the dude won State. It tells me that the guy can get his ass kicked and instead of giving up he will basically become what he needs to become. It also tells me that the guy knows leverage because as this tall massive human he was able to dominate in the wrestling world which is almost entirely about leverage. His football career is basically the same. He didn't go to the big school. He went to the shitty school, earned his way to Arkansas and then played better at Arkansas against better competition than he did at the shitty school.

The man has overcome a lot in his athletic career so he isn't just words. Now maybe he has tapped all the potential he can tap and it will show. But if his body can do it I think the guy absolutely has the work ethic and attitude to make it happen. I think he will punch above the god given talent he has. And maybe that is an Urban level player. I'm cool with that for his career.

He's got good size/length and the right mentality, he'll be a fine rotational player. Probably never a star, or even a "starter" (i.e. playing >50% of the snaps) but he should be a decent depth guy who can play a role.
