IRVING, Texas -- The Cowboys made it official on Thursday, adding linebacker Orie Lemon to the active roster. The team released cornerback Micah Pellerin, who played in just two games this season after he was called up to the practice squad.
Lemon spent two seasons with the Cowboys, mainly on the practice squad, but he played in five games in 2012.
Lemon signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013 but was cut at the end of training camp. Lemon had spent nearly two months on the Arizona Cardinals practice squad before the Cowboys signed him.
Lemon is used to playing in a 3-4 scheme, but coach Jason Garrett said he can play in the 4-3 as well.
The Cowboys made this move because rookie linebacker DeVonte Holloman still hasn't fully recovered from a neck injury that's cost him the last four games.
