Charges never should have been brought. The DA's office should face repercussions for a purely political prosecution ... but won't.

Just realized we are discussing this in two different threads at the same time. I swear this board is like a dysfunctional family. :lol

Excuse my ignorance, but can you explain the difference?
Charges dismissed means the Judge throws it out. The Jury doesn’t decide, the judge does. He can do that, for example, if the defendant’s rights have been prejudiced to the point where he cannot get a fair trial.

In this case the jury decided not guilty. Which is how it normally goes.

Gotcha. That’s kinda what I thought but wanted to be sure.

God, the idiots on facebook drive me nuts. Sometimes it takes every ounce of my energy to not respond to this stuff. As an attorney I don't want to get wrapped into explaining law to folks but I saw someone spouting off that he was illegally carrying a weapon as a 17 year old in Wisconsin. That isn't true as their law makes exceptions for 16 and 17 year olds with riffles. But no, I'm not going to explain this shit on there. All it will do is have someone attacking me and my name but Jesus I hate facebook right now.

Right. I misheard the judge.
I'm no expert on this stuff.
No you didn’t. The Jury read out the not guilty verdict, then as the judge did his thing, he also declared the charges dismissed with prejudice. I heard that part, I’m like 99.99999% sure.

I’m pretty sure the judge is supposed to announce that when someone is acquitted.

A company called Miso Robotics just invented a robotic burger flipper and fry basket swapper, which is being debuted at White Castles in a pilot program.

$15 an hour! Coming your way soon! Featuring 50% less jobs!
Automation is coming big time.

My company announced two new mechanized distribution centers that are going to be 4X more productive and have 60X better quality.

Instead of picking product with manual labor, robots are doing most of the job.

My DC has 1000 people in it. These new ones will operate with 400. And the jobs are far more skilled than the grunt work we pay $30 an hour for now.

He really didn’t. Someone said he was stupid for being there the other day, and I kind of agreed with that. The more I thought about it, he had every much the right to be there as anyone else that night. To blame him for being there is a pretty fucked up point of view unless you first acknowledge that the people burning businesses down shouldn’t have been there either. In that case you’re arguing that the whole event shouldn’t have unfolded, and you’d get no argu

If you come from that school of thought, then you really have to lay the blame of it all at the feet of the Governor for rejecting the help of the National Guard that Trump was begging them to ask for.

Law enforcement should have been in the middle of it instead of on the outside looking in, but when you have orders to stand down and let the animals do what they’ll do, this is what you’re left with.
