Nick Saban made one critical mistake at the QB position and bailed. I don't think he would be a shot in the dark if he would coach here (he wouldn't). Look at what a guy with a similar career in Pete Carroll (pro background, but not much HC succeess, huge college success) has done in Seattle. I wouldn't be surprised if Saban did just as well if he came back to the NFL.
You would consider Sean Payton a triple-A coach, right? Maybe Belichick or Coughlin? They all started as coordinators too. I've no problem getting one if he has the right makeup.
Yeah, those guys exist. I was all about Rex Ryan when he was a coordinator. I don't see a truly hot name out there right now on that level though. There's run of the mill hot names every year that turn into Chan Gaileys.
People tend to get hotter when they make a deep playoff run. It's still too early to see who will separate himself from the pack.
