Please. You weren't doing a whole heck of a lot with Rees, either. Seriously, you played a beaten down and depleted USC team - at home - and let them hang around for the entire game. If USC had a speck of talent at the o-line or QB, you would've lost. In fact, USC's multiple holding penalties were bigger reasons for the loss than anything your team did. Be honest for a change. ND isn't a very good team, and any intelligent recruit who watched that game assuredly noticed that.

Good point. His team played Central Michigan, Akron, UConn and a god awful Notre Dame team. Talk about playing a legitimate schedule. I haven't looked at any strength of schedule rankings, but I'm sure ND's isn't in the "not legitimate" area.
I've always defended ND's schedule. It's never been worse than University of Texas or Oklahoma or USC.
Tony, the problem with your "argument" is that I've criticized Michigan's schedule since day 1. So pointing out how bad my garbage schedule still pails in comparison to your annual avoidance of tough games. This season is no different. You team lacks the balls to join a conference, hand picks a bunch of average teams and cup cakes, 2 or 3 solid games, and calls it a day. So please stop trying to defend a bad schedule. I'm not defending Michigan's horrible schedule because I'm being intellectually honest.

Look at the strength of schedule rankings. ND is always up there whether you like it or not. I know you have conspiracy theories on these rankings and that Sagarin is biased, but it is what it is. Is it ND's fault that Michigan and USC suck? Who knew? I mean they have Michigan, Oklahoma, USC and Stanford and in any given year these teams could be National Title contenders. ASU, MSU and BYU are solid programs and not cakewalks by any means. Temple, Air Force and Navy are not good this year. I'm not saying anything about Pitt, we should beat them, but they give us trouble at their place for whatever reason.

And, being owned by the #1 ranked defense in the country is what it is. I knew that my o-line stunk long before the season started, so I'm not bitter about it. We are who we are: an above average team that is rebuilding. Just as I've said for months.

Say what you want, but we beat your ass twice, nearly beat you last year even with 6 turnovers, won a Sugar Bowl championship, and didn't lose to Pitt. And seeing that your team struggles against a bad B1G conference as well, you have little room to criticize.
