I’m skeptical about body counts and the actions of our leaders. If it’s as serious as we hear, why aren’t we acting like New Zealand? They’ve had a full stop travel ban for 18 months. Only those with NZ passports can enter the country, and when they do, they have to test and quarantine for two weeks.

Until I see those measures from my government, I’m going to assume that they aren’t serious about this either.

You get that kind of measures from this government and these goddamn loons will make 1/6 look like a play date.

I don't care if you get vaccinated or not. That's up to you to decide what risks you're willing to take.

But I do think it's irresponsible of people to neither get vaccinated nor wear a mask but still gather around people as if everything is normal.

Now, if you're neither vaccinated nor wear masks in public but you stay home and away from public gatherings? That's cool too.

But it's stupid and irresponsible to go out completely unprotected and yet mix in with other people all because of some stupid politically driven bullshit that's led way too many people to believe that the virus isn't real.

I felt it was necessary for me at work. I have a 1000 people in a building. It wasn't a hard choice for me.

My wife and adult son? Their choice. Didn't push a thing on them.

I do have a problem when people literally see a loved one die and they still can't help but fall back on politically-charged rhetoric instead of grieving.

It is like the denial is just too strong.

We've had 6 people die in our little town in the last week, most that I recall this whioe time. Folks are getting scared, and rightfully so.

Not only do we not know much about covid, this variant just wiped these mostly healthy folks out quickly.

Our town was selected as 1 of 5 locations in the state to giuse a tent city mass vaccination site several months ago. There was a military presence because they expected a flood of people to line up for the shots vut it was tumbleweeds for a couple months before they closed up shop.

They would have a line a few miles long right now

I’m one of the people who think lockdowns went too far. The CDC has remained steadfast in saying “Masks unless you can maintain 6’ social distancing.”, people can still operate in a free society and respect each others space.

What I can’t fathom is why travel is still allowed, you can add immigration without proper testing and quarantine to that also.

Nobody knows enough about either. People are absolutely free to take a risk, we do it in a million different ways throughout our lives. Nobody is getting out of this life alive, so we should all do what’s best for ourselves.

I feel terrible for Booze and his extended family. I know sickly people who have gotten the virus and been fine, diabetics, people with heart conditions, old people with other health issues.

I’ve also heard about people like Booze’s nephew, relatively healthy and they die from it.

It’s a weird virus, but pretending everything is settled on it and we should just trust that it’s a killer on its face, I’m skeptical about what we’ve been through in the last 1.5 years.

We need to keep in mind, these hospitals are still getting per case money for Covid patients. We seem to have forgotten all of these documented cases where the person didn't die from Covid. They just had it when they died. That hasn't changed.
