Don’t be too surprised by this group. There’s some great people among us
I mean, I didn't mean it to sound like there aren't good people here. I have known that for many many years. It's just that guys aren't normally as openly sensitive about a topic like this and you boys have shocked me and left me in awe.

Not a great day today. Not sure if you guys want to see updates, and I'm hesitant to give them, because it really feels like attention whoring to me and I hate that shit.

I definitely want to hear it good or bad. Anything to do with father's day, or coincidence?

Definitely talk through it, if you feel like it.
I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be talking through, though. I can't put my finger on it except work. Work is without a doubt stressful right now. Maybe that's all it is?

Social media has been shown to be a major driver of depression, no idea how active you are (if you are) but if so I'd lay off it.
I think there is a good point here. Politics on Twitter and other areas can have a negative impact on one's life. My problem is, I need to separate political twitter from sports twitter. They are both in my feed and do tend to bring me down on some days where political twitter is stupid (which is most days), but I need the sports twitter because I have to keep this board moving and the best and most efficient outlet for that is twitter.

I have a board to run, and that can't happen for me without twitter, unfortunately. If I deleted twitter this board would die. Not being all self-important, but right at this moment that is true.

Try a full Twitter vacation now - sports and politics. Don’t try to separate it. This board has enough Twitter-savvy postersthat can act as the filter and fulfill posting sports news in the DCC

...and it’s the off-season. Take a load off. There’s no NFL news that needs instant distribution.

You’re running around like a Jaylon Smith with his head cut off. My friend, we are the board, not Twitter.

You just keep posting the funneh in the Off-season Thread

Get lost in something for a few hours. Go to the movies or something.

It may sound stupid, but I used a lot of YouTube videos that had calming sounds and shit like that.

Get some headphones, put on an anxiety treatment video thing, get lost in it. Another thing I did was ask my wife to just talk, these women are good at talking, and if you let them know you’re dealing with some shit, they’ll catch on and do what’s needed.

You can even be super honest in the moment, I remember telling my wife to change subjects because the current one was stupid and boring. You can’t pull that shit in a normal conversation, but she’ll understand in that moment.

This made me chuckle cause it's true. We can't say that unless it's a serious as shit conversation. :lol

This is true, late June to late July is literally the most dead time of the year for football.

True story.

2015-2017 was pretty horrible for me. As a result a HAD to cut out anything that brought me down. At times it was this board, not because of anyone here but because of me. I don’t Twitter at all, that place is a cesspool of human garbage and I cannot afford to get sucked in. It’s just terrible.

I stopped watching the news, I stopped debating and just generally buried myself in the things that bring me purpose. My family, my businesses and faith.

At the moment my favorite place to be is on my tractor. As stupid as it sounds, I have had to move about 300 loads of dirt that was excavated to the area around my house. I throw in the AirPods and light a cigar while getting lost in not thinking about much at all. It is the best therapy ever because it is truly what I want to do.

I have 5 of my 6 kids that work with me in our businesses. I currently have any entirely new purpose in life to give them the best of me. So I try to keep myself as sharp as possible by blocking out and negativity. I just don’t have room for that in my life.

when I was going through a terrible time I could not explain why. I couldn’t will myself out of it either. It was just stuck on me like a damn booger.
