Yes you can. To me, it's all just baseball.I appreciate grand standing and I also appreciate a guy taking one to the ribs for it.
Can I have both?

I agree. As long as no one is getting plunked in the head I'm good.Yes you can. To me, it's all just baseball.
Hell Odor didnt even wait for the next at bat before Bautista got his.Back in the day, he would get one in the ribs. Not so sure about these days.

Look at any baseball board for a few minutes (if you can stand it)... nothing triggers the kids like "unwritten rules." For some reason it drives them absolutely insane. I think a lot of it is simply that they think the Olds have to be wrong about, well, pretty much everything.Back in the day, he would get one in the ribs. Not so sure about these days.
They see it as an impediment to "fun" or "self expression." They know that today's players can't/won't control themselves, so the "unwritten rules" (agreed to by old white men back in the day) have to go.Look at any baseball board for a few minutes (if you can stand it)... nothing triggers the kids like "unwritten rules." I'm fine with throwing at them from the waist down. Any area above the waist should be off-limits, IMO.I agree. As long as no one is getting plunked in the head I'm good.
The slower pace of play is part of the problem but baseball also has a marketing problem when it comes to relating to younger generations. Another part of the problem is how the game is played today. Back when we were growing up there was a lot more action and movement in the game. Guys put the ball in play more often and teams actually stole bases at a pretty high clip. But in today's game it's practically nothing but station-to-station baseball. I can watch a week's worth Braves game and they won't even attempt to steal a single base that entire week. Also, 25 years ago players used to be embarrassed to strike out 100 times in a season. But these dudes today have blown past 200 with regularity and it only feels inevitable that someone will strikeout 300 times in a year. Also, I'll disagree with what bigdfan said. I don't think these superficial things like allowing showboating are going to impact young fans at all. To me it's like "speeding up the game" by eliminating the actual pitches for intentional walk -- just flailing around trying any gimmick when the problem is the slow pace of the game itself and the shortening attention spans of young people.
I'm okay with rib beans. Anything above that should not be allowed.I'm fine with throwing at them from the waist down. Any area above the waist should be off-limits, IMO.
Well, holy shit. I went and looked and they actually do. I didn't expect that, considering how the Twins have been sucking all year. Not so sure about that. Twins have more wins than we do.
That's good. Gonna need him to be a key piece if Texas wants to compete again in a couple years.Josh Jung went 3-5 with a HR in his second game at AA. RAIDER!!!!
