how do you know he'd be that effective? he might actually be a terrible teacher.
I don't know for sure, but he is a great leader on the field and obviously very smart, so I would take that chance. Lee could have been an all-timer at the position had it not been for injuries, so he obviously knows his shit.

Does this make Earl Thomas a revived possibility? If so, is it a good short term move?

I'd bring him in as a coach. But I probably wouldn't throw him right into being the LBers coach. I'd start him out as like and assistant LBers coach, or quality control or something like that. After he gets his feet wet I'd probably make him a position coach a little down the road.

I would be fine with that, with the hopeful longterm goal of him taking over the role full-time.

Heard some former Ticket guy who has worked in Atlanta for years now. He was pretty critical of Quinn, didn't think much of him. Said he was a good leader type but that's about it.

But he did say safety is very important to him, so Dallas fans might finally get some safeties who aren't just an afterthought.

That alone would be a monstrous improvement.

If it wasnt for the sideline stuff I had seen out of him correcting our coaches, or the fact that the defense played considerably better with him in the lineup, even when he was washed, I would want to take it slow with him too. But considering those things, and what we saw from our LB’s last year, I would be comfortable taking that chance. I think that highly of his football acumen. Of course, it has been mentioned that that doesnt mean he would be a great teacher, but as a former player for this very squad, another chance I would be willing to take.

Who else to help fix all that was wrong than someone who had seen it first hand for years?

Well for what it's worth, the Falcons passed on him too. Quinn voided the issue by claiming the Falcons weren't looking for a safety, though he loves Earl Thomas as a competitor.

But you've got to think they would have made room for the guy if he really wanted him.

I don't have high hopes for it but I think it's possible a coach could light a fire under Jaylons ass. He needs a hardass coach who will take him down a few pegs. His physical talent hasn't gotten worse. He's just lost that fire. He is so fake now and acts like he is great when he sucks.

I agree on LVE, he just needs to stay healthy and get confident in the scheme.
Not sure what anyone really saw in Smith looking at his performance objectively. I think we were all too happy for the guy to be very objective.

yeah, start him off a bit below position coach, let him work up to it. If he's made for it, he will show it relatively quickly.

It is pretty clear he was toxic. He had a lot going on apparently.

He could be the Jerry reclamation project for 2021.

I like that he has no connection to Mike, but the guy has authored some historic collapses in recent years. "But he didn't have enough talent!" Well, that's the predicament in Dallas too.

Shiiiiit. I've already seen some mongoloids saying he should have been made the DC this year, and be given the HC job when McCarthy is gone.

I really wish you could smack people over the internet.
