This is the first time the Bulls starting 5 started a game together, Rose's first game in 18 months, Noah played about 3 minutes all preseason with even less practice time and Butler/Deng had 3 fouls each about 2 minutes into the 2nd quarter.

Yea, I'm sure this will be the Bulls team we see in 6 months.
They'll be fine. Rose missed a lot short, and Noah and Deng just straight up didn't show up. That wasn't the Bulls team we see in 6 days.

He will be.
I know. I'm just messing with you guys.

As an aside, I don't trust Brooklyn. They're too old, IMO, and old players tend to break down as the season rolls along.

Remember how old Pierce looked towards the end of last year.

I know they're going to be playing reduced minutes in Brooklyn but I still don't trust them to make a serious push in the playoffs.

If I was Brooklyn, Pierce and Garnett would be seeing basically backup only minutes until the playoffs.

Sixers giving the Heat all they can handle. Were up 19-0 then Heat scored 45 points in 3rd quarter take a big lead. Sixers storm back to take lead. We've got 81 more games to tank. Michael Carter-Williams (MCW from now on) is going off big time in his first game, wow. Not over yet.

Are you kidding me? Sixers 114 Heat 110. Evan Turner with 26 points, but MCW was the star of the game.

22 pts
12 asst
7 reb
9 steals
1 to
6-10 fg
4-6 3pt
6-8 ft (2 to ice game at end)

MCW was amazing. 22 PTs 7 rebounds 12 assists 9 steals 1 turnover. Quite an NBA debut.

Turner was pretty good too.

Thad Young looked like he didn't fit in to this team.

Maybe the Sixers aren't the worst team in the league after all. Not sure that's a good thing.

What a debut for Dwight Howard - 17 points abd 26 boards.

Asik added 14 boards of his own. It's gonna be hard to beat the Rockets if they dominate the glass like that all year.

Speaking of debuts, Dirk picked up where he left of in the preseason and was sharp with 24 points.

Monta Ellis had a nice start to his career as a Mav with 32 points on an efficient 11/17 shooting.

If the Pacers are going to have any chance to overtake the Heat this year, then Hibbert is going to have to prove that what he did in the playoffs last year was not a fluke but instead a step towards his progression.

It's extremely early in the season, but he had 8 points in the 1st game and only 6 points tonight.

He's going to have to be at least a 15 and 10 guy for them to be a championship contender.

Brooklyn loses their season opener at Cleveland.

The funny thing is, it was the old guys like Garnett, Pierce, and Jason Terry that played pretty well. But Deron Williams had a measly 7 points and Joe Johnson was 3-10 from the field.

There are a lot of good teams in the NBA this year. Or at least teams that should be good.

Boston just sucks. There was no riggin' last night.

A few other things that grabbed my attention.

- Nice to see the Thunder get that first win out of the way w/o Westbrook. Jackson looks more comfortable running the show in RW's absence.
- I still don't think the Lakers make the playoffs. Their bench played out of their mind against the Clippers and I knew that wouldn't hold up over 82 games.
- Dwyane Wade sitting to rest his knees 2 games into the season should tell Heat fans that they're going to be in for more gimpy Wade this season and in the postseason.
- Nice win for Cleveland. They're a team that I think will sneak into the playoffs this year. Probably a 6-8 seed. They have good shooters and a nice back court in Waiters and Irving.

Sixers beat the Heat opening night. All downhill from here. They still will win about 15 games this year. Their bench is beyond bad and once the long season sets in and they need the bench they'll have many a long losing streak. And if Turner, MCW, Thad or Hawes get injured for a prolonged period of time the losing streaks will be even longer.

Still pleased with that stat line for MCW in his debut game. I find it hard to believe anybody ever had a better first game across the board like he did. Sure guys had more points (22), or more rebounds (7), but I think I heard one guy had more assists (12) and nobody more steals (9). That's crazy.

Love our coach, too. If MCW proves to be the PG of the future and with Noel getting healthy and adding some lbs then you add a couple high picks next year and all the cap money they have the future looks good.

Any chance Evan Turner plays himself to being a part of the Sixers future? I had thought there was no shot. He looks to have lost at least 10lbs, probably closer to 15. It'll be interesting to see if he can take that next step or is it too late? He's definitely going to score more because he is their #1 option and will get close to 20 shot per night, but he has to be way, way more efficient. His shot has improved each season. He's always been a good rebounder and passer and hopefully the lost weight has him quicker on both defense and offense. I think moving on from Doug Collins to Brett Brown will help, too.

I have never really been a Turner fan, but in a free flowing offense he appears to be comfortable. Collins was too rigid. I'd like a swing with better range though. We are very limited with shooters. If he plays his way into a bigger deal though, he may have to go. He'd make quite a bit.of sense for the Spurs.
