There's a better chance that Ken Jeong will make something happen than Garrett magically putting it together at this point.
If that was true, I'd agree with you... but it's not.

Might as well just lose out at this point and be done with the Garrett experiment. I know there's more problems than just JG but he is definitely a liability who is in way over his head.

And yeah, like everyone else I'm calculating how we'll give the ball back with :30-:35 left and then we hold. But seriously, we'd probably have been called for holding even if we knelt on the ball.

Just unreal, +4 turnovers, only 7 pts given up in 3 quarters, two double digit leads in 4th quarter. Take over with lead in final 2:00, and still lose.

4-4... .500 .. that is this teams peak, year after fricking year.
I agree.

I am done.

As much as how a win would have made things seem cool...this is the kind of epic loss that is needed.

And one that makes a team lose faith.

I feel bad for these players.

I like a lot of these guys.

It is too bad they play for one of the more average HCs in the NFL.

Yeah, Witten was like, get your head in the game, we still have 12 seconds, put your helmet on.

Bryant was just popping off, yelling at people.
So I take it he went nuts after the Cowboys choked the game away?

If so, then good. I'm tired of this pussy ass team just acting all sad and shit after an epic choke job and talking about how heart breaking it is and how they have to work better.

If does was furious, as he should have been, then I applaud him because it's about damn time that someone actually acted like they were tired of being a part of these inexplicable losses.

What did he have to be restrained from?
I forget whose face he was in. Then Witten turned around and started yelling at him and pointing up (as if to say "Put your helmet on, there is still time left"), and they were yelling back and forth. Finally Ware came over and grabbed him by the front of his chest pads and pushed him and and started whispering to him.

Well, yes, it's good to be mad, but bad to be mad in that situation. Witten was right. There were 12 seconds left. Get your helmet on. Save your energy for the field, go out there and make a play.

Blow up at whoever when the game is actually over.

Romo was bad again too...the protection was not as bad as he acted it was.

On that last drive I would've coached the safest and best way to win the game. I already deleted the game, but if Romo takes a knee three timrs there's less than 30 seconds left. Then pooch punt it. That eats up a few more seconds. Then pretty much game over. If you do what you guys suggest we do and we did the Lions get the frickin ball back with over a minute still. No way that should happen. Take the human element of a fumble or penalty 100% out of the equation and give your team the best chance to win.

No second guessing here. I kept yelling for them to not run it because I thought about a fumble.
I don't see how kneeling takes anymore time off when Detroit was calling timeouts. :unsure

That's fair...but I'll ask you this in earnest...how many more years of 8-8 do you give Garrett?

2 years? 5 years? 20 years?
I'll replace him right now. Find me someone better.

There could be names at the end of the season. It's not impossible.

The issue is, we can't know if Jerry is conducting a behind the scenes search, and if he was, we can't know who he's considering, but that's what I'm saying needs to happen. I don't want to see him fired and then we are scrambling with 6 other teams to find a new coach.

I wish we would have gone after Reid in the offseason.

TheTicket just said something funny. THE IRONY

"Longest run play today was for 9 yards, and it was the run play that the Lions declined the holding penalty to save the clock"

Rapid Reaction: Dallas Cowboys

October, 27, 2013

By Todd Archer | ESPNDallas.com

DETROIT -- A few thoughts on the Dallas Cowboys' 31-30 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

What it means for the Cowboys: Dominated offensively and defensively, the Cowboys had no business being in the game but lost it in a way only they can, giving up a touchdown with 12 seconds left to play on a Matthew Stafford leap after blowing two 10-point leads in the fourth quarter.

The Lions scored 24 points in the fourth quarter, and the defense was unable to find an answer for Calvin Johnson, who had 329 yards receiving, which were 125 more yards than the Cowboys had as a team.

With the loss, the Cowboys dropped to 4-4 and are foreshadowing a third straight 8-8 record.

The only thing that could save them is the NFC East division title, because the Cowboys would lose a wild-card tiebreaker with the Lions if it gets that far.

Stock watch: Cowboys defense, falling -- Johnson proved just how otherworldly he is with 14 catches for 329 yards, and he did it with Brandon Carr following him all over the field. Carr had success against Demaryius Thomas, Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson. He had none with Johnson. The Lions finished with 623 yards on offense, negating the four turnovers the Cowboys forced.

Three touchdowns, but: Tony Romo completed at least 69.4 percent of his passes in each of the first five games, but he has been off-target of late.

He completed 60 percent against the Washington Redskins, 59.6 percent against the Philadelphia Eagles and 46.7 percent (14-of-30) against the Lions.

He did, however, throw a touchdown pass in his 21st straight game with a 5-yarder to Bryant in the second quarter, then hit on consecutive passes to Terrance Williams (60 yards) and Bryant (50 yards) in the fourth quarter for scores.

What’s next: The Cowboys return to AT&T Stadium next week to face the Minnesota Vikings. It is their only home game in a six-week span with road games against the New Orleans Saints (Nov. 10) and the New York Giants (Nov. 24) sandwiching their Nov. 17 bye week.

Unfortunately we still the Vikings and Raiders and probably 2 more wins besides that in us. Then we can be 8-8 and just a "play or two" away from being 9-7 or 10-6 and a playoff team. More JG, more status quo, more .500 football, more wasted years. yay!

Right.

So just because there isn't anyone better in Schmitty's mind, does that mean you're just going to settle for this shit for 100 years straight?

That's just dumb.

Well, again, calling three runs should never be considered "unsafe." It should have given us the option to either punt it to them with like 10 seconds left or kick off to them with like 30 seconds left.
It is unsafe though. Fumbles and penalties happen. We've seen it before. Three knees = win and in this game 3 runs = loss. Sure 3 runs you still usually win, buy 3 knees wins more. Give your team the best chance to win and that obviously wasn't done. Sure the Tanker bounced it outside, he's human. Take all the human element out, take all the uncontrollable out and take the W.
