I was happy to see some demonstrations in my area. We have a small town near my facility that actually had the police organize a march tonight. That's the kind of thing we need.

Both myself and my wife come into contact with tons of people.
So do I. In my personal life, I'm obviously around a lot of conservative people. In my professional life I'm around a lot of less conservative people. I am in alternate transportation which includes a shit ton of climate activists. So, I see both sides of the spectrum, and I can tell you, there are a lot more batshit crazy on the left.

The crazies are on both sides. The undereducated are on both sides. Above all else, the majority are assholes.

People just suck in general.
I agree.

Agreed. We need to build back some trust between community and cops.

Nah. There are a shit ton of batshit crazy people all around, everywhere. They just don't consistently reveal themselves.

On the right, it is mostly the fringe. Not so on the left.

So what is "brewing"?
If these antifa groups move into rural areas, you will see that brewing turn into reality. I can assure you of that. Outside of that, like I said, I don't know what might happen.

I’m all for peaceful protests but I have to repeat the question, what is it that people want?

The Wall Street Journal released an article that police brutality against minorities is way overblown and way less than you’d actually expect.

Exactly. What is the remedy they seek? I don't think they even know.

Except to "defund the police." Which is insanity and apparently what Mayor Garcetti is going to do. :doh

Forgive my ignorance, I could be speaking out of my ass on this...would anti-govt groups/militia in the rural areas be more than likely to team up with anarchists and Antifa?
You’re talking out of your ass for sure, bro.

Two totally different anti-government groups.

Uhh, no. This is what I'm talking about. There isn't near the far right "militia" population as there is the "SAVE THE FUCKING PLANET AND LET MEN PEE IN WOMEN'S BATHROOMS OR YOU ARE A RACIST" population. Not sure how anyone can argue that right now in this country.

Why would Antifa go into the rural areas anyway...that’s what’s confusing, I guess.

They’d rather take out things like the NYSE building, major distribution/manufacturing facilities, the Capitol Building, no?
Dude, that's just because that is where they live. You think these stupid young dipshits have money to travel? Or even their mom's permission?

I think it’s far fetched to think they would. I guess it would only make sense if they were looking for real pushback. They aren’t going to get that from cops most likely, not right now anyway.

But as others have alluded, if a group of protesters wanna venture down some dirt roads with their bullshit, they most likely would calm down in a hurry or risk not living to warm their friends of the bad idea they had.

Neither. They are there to create unrest.

I go through two small towns every day and both are having scripted protest nights tonight. We will see.

I doubt they get much traction.

Leave a pallet of bricks there, bitches steal them to make a fire pit or something.

What’s your take on why we haven’t heard much if anything from prominent democrats? How many have condemned violence and looting?

Why can’t they separate protesters from pieces of shit troublemakers?

I have my theory, controversial as it may be.

I'll expound on your point. They aren't condemning them because they need them for their unrest and for their votes. How's that?

I could probably get there, but I think it’s even less sinister than that.

371 white people killed by police in 2019.
236 black people killed by police in 2019.

I guess the problem is the rate based on population of race?

I wonder if this is more a class problem than a race problem? I guess that question probably gets a little sticky, because you then have to figure out why poor people are getting killed, and also what is keeping them poor.

I love Ben Shapiro, if any of you do too, you’ll know his rules for climbing out of poverty. I’d bet at least 90% of the combined deaths between whites and blacks break at least 1 of his rules.
It's an ugly truth but to answer your question, as far as the rate of black people getting killed by police, it is a crime thing, more than anything.
Black people commit violent crime at a much higher rate than any other group; white, hispanic, asian, middle eastern, ect.
There is the belief that severe poverty has lead to much of that crime which is certainly valid.
A good conversation could be had about the root cause of that said poverty, however.
But as far as whether police shootings have an overwhelming racial bias element, it certainly isn't backed by the numbers, IMO.
