Another solid move made by the Super Bowl champs. Breeland is a solid #2 corner. And we gave them their #1.
Before the Watkins re-structure, they had $177 in cap space.

$177

One restructure later, and they suddenly have $4.5M to sign a starting CB.

And I think they managed to keep Chris Jones, the top DT in free agency and re-sign Pennel too. And I think the Watkins deal also allowed them to sign RB Deandre Washington as well.

They'll be able to keep it together this year and look to have $62 million in cap room in 2021 to pay Mahomes.

Sounds like the trade talks fell through and now the browns don't want a pissed off obj that they tried to shop.

It is possible but this just reeks of CYA. I don't doubt for a second that the Browns regret trading for Beckham and would love to get rid of him.
That may very well be true. But it certainly doesn't mean an unsubstantiated and now debunked tweet was ever true.

Bears release Trey Burton

Posted by Josh Alper on April 17, 2020, 5:30 PM EDT

The Bears signed tight end Trey Burton to a four-year deal in 2018, but he won’t be in Chicago for the second half of the deal.

According to multiple reports, the Bears are releasing Burton.

Burton had $4 million in guaranteed money this season and the team will be on the hook for $7.5 million in dead money with just over $1 million in new cap space if he isn’t designated a post-June 1 cut. If he is, the dead money number will improve to $5.75 million and the cap space will grow to $2.8 million.

Burton had 54 catches for 569 yards and six touchdowns in his first year with the Bears. A core muscle injury limited him to eight games, 14 catches and 84 yards last season.

The Bears have signed Jimmy Graham and Demetrius Harris this offseason. Adam Shaheen, Ben Braunecker, JP Holts, Jesper Horsted and Eric Saubert round out the tight end group.

When is that GM going to be fired already? He's running that team into the ground right before our eyes.

And this, folks, is what happens when you trade two 1st round picks for a player without having a contract extension in place. You're then forced to give the player anything and everything they demand.

Laremy fucking Tunsil now makes an average of $22 million a year.

Meanwhile, we have Tyron Smith under contract for the next 4 years for under $48 million.

And Tunsil couldn't carry his jock!
