Yeah... if it were going to be a player to make that transition, I'd rather it be Sean Lee, and even that is an unthinkable reach.
If you have no faith that the guy could run an offense or defense how exactly could he be a head coach? He'd basically be a cheerleader.

You're the one who always says Romo is better than Aikman because of his individual stats, well Dak is easily a top10 qb going by his stats this year so why shouldn't he be paid as one?
It’s a silly argument. One is about who was the best QB of the Dallas Franchise. Which has noting to do with paying a QB top tier money.

You're the one throwing out the ridiculous number of 24mil for a top10 qb

I threw out that number because I’m not sure yet that Dak is a top 10 QB yet. One of the things that gives me pause is consistency. At times he still reverts back to some old habits like holding on to the ball too long and throwing off the back foot or backing up. It causes him to miss receivers and has the potential for interceptions. Experienced QBs throw the ball away to keep from loosing yardage or risking picks. At times he seems brilliant but at times he seems like a rookie. Consistency is lacking still.

To find better than Dak you'll have to find the next Mahomes, Brees or Rodgers. Drafting a Carson Wentz or Matthew Stafford doesn't get you anywhere further than you are now. Hell even Goff doesn't look like an improvement. You can either continue to try to win it all with Dak who is more than capable or you can muddle around for a decade buying raffle tickets to find the next truly special NFL QB.
This is exactly right. I probably tag him next year and see what the new coaching staff does with him and then go from there. No way am I letting Dak just walk out the door with Garrett's stank still on him.

I am perfectly ok with seeing how he performs under a new staff. Not sure anyone is saying let him walk after this season is over.

If you’re referring to QBs that are going to play another +3 years, Dak is Top 10 right now because this eliminates Brees, Brady, Roethlisberger, Rivers and maybe Rodgers.

However, if you’re talking Top 10 for only the 2020 season, Dak is not Top 10.

Dak has been better than Rivers this year if you were listing him.
