As more time passes, the higher Troy goes on my list of all-time favorites.

He is the only former Cowboy of note that isn't all chummy with the Jones' and isn't concerned with being invited to games.

If more former, and especially current players were honest, then maybe the Jones family would be forced to look in the mirror. Instead, Emmitt, Irvin, Staubach, Witten, etc. would rather get all sentimental and put their personal feelings for Jerry first so the idiot keeps on keeping on.

I wish the fans would wake the hell up and start being as pissed at Jerry Jones as they are Jason Garrett. Instead they're still throwing roses at his feet wherever he goes.

For instance, I don't understand fans like Shango. Hell spend 10 minutes on his YouTube channel ranting about how it's Jerry's fault and how Jerry needs to change then will turn right around and buy tons of Cowboys gear....basically expressing support to Jerry and sending a message that you approve of the job he's doing.

I've had a couple of exchanges with him pointing out his hypocritical support of Jerry Jones and his response was he hasn't been to a game in Dallas in 5 years. Meanwhile if you watch his videos he's always decked out in the latest Cowboys jerseys and gear. And there is tons of Cowboys memorabilia all over the house. But yeah, in his mind he's not part of the problem.

I don't know why it takes Aikman to make that point clear to Jerry. It's obvious to everyone, and it's been obvious for years. Three payoff wins in 25 years makes it obvious -- to anyone, including Jerry.

The same message, same theme, over and over again. It's not like it will be some sudden revelation that just dawns on Jerry out of the blue. He's aware of it, he knows it -- but his ego is so massive and out of control that he's created a reality that suits some strange distortion in his head: that he knows what he's doing, that he's a genuine football guy.

One his favorite verbal tics is, "in my mind." There it is. Jerry lives with a fantasy in his mind. It won't change till he croaks.

Yup.

I told him the same thing lol.

All his Cowboys stuff is fresh every single year. Both apparel and memorabilia. Some fans just can't quit the team man.

I don't know why it's so hard for some, but there are lots of fans that can't lessen their devotion no matter what.

Right.

Like you said, even Jerry has to know, right? Because for as much shit as people give Jerry for being clueless, I don't think he's as clueless as people think. I just think he's defiant and doesn't give a shit. Because even Jerry has to see that in all this time, what's the difference in his organization and all the others?

It's the way he chooses to run the team. It's unique and not in a good way.

And who are one of the other few teams who also haven't sniffed so much as a conference championship appearance in that same span?

The Washington Redskins.

And what else do they have in common? They run their organization in similar fashion.

Again, I don't think the Jones' are unaware of this. I just think they'd rather have occasional moderate success doing it their way than to win multiple Super Bowls while taking backseat roles.

If more fans understood this, they might wise up and tell the team to go F itself instead of holding on hopelessly.

Aikman isn’t saying anything that hasn’t been stated by some for a considerable time. Here’s the problem however, The Jones are going to continue to own the franchise and no amount of criticism is going to change that. The only move that can be made to satisfy the disention is to fire a coach or in this case let him walk. This has been done in the past and the end result is the same consternation about the teams performances continues.

Pointing fingers at the Jones and their negative influences will get you nowhere if you think they will change. It appears at this point that the cycle has reached the shuck the coach time and is the only action that is a possible consideration. Chances are that will happen at the end of the season or Jones would have already pulled the plug on Garrett.

When this is done, and I think it will happen at the end of the Cowboys season, then that’s the maximum reorganization you will get from the franchise. Waiting for further changes will be a very long exercise. If the incoming Coach makes headway then will will have to accept that as hope for future success.

to add to LT Fan''s post, jeri has become addicted to the fame and limelight and he cant walk away from it. Not havin it makes him miserable and its why he couldn't stand having guys like Jimmy & Parcells who stole his show. I really think if he lost the fame and no one ever spoke to him, asked his opinions, put him in print, radio or film, he'd wither and die, maybe within a few months

My dad went to a game a few years ago and was there early and saw jeri come out onto the field by himself and walk slowly across the field & back, looking up into the stands, sucking up for adulation...he could see no other discernible purpose to his stroll. I've heard other tell me similar stories

I despise him

I didn't quit the team, but I stopped buying their shit. You can do both.

I find it impossible to not watch the games, as bad as it's been. I don't buy gear or attend games, but I still watch. It's quite the masochistic ritual.

Troy had me .. until he started praising Garrett. Old friendships die hard.
Jerry might have made a slight miscalcualtion with Garrett. All the old BFF media guys sold him hard at first, which helped when the hire was made. But now that the end is in sight, they're so on Jason's side that Jerry is getting all the blame for everything.

I don't know, I see Garrett has plenty of haters in the media. Typically, they hate Jerry as well, but know he's not going anywhere.

Shan Shariff with 105.3 in Dallas is one that is hammering the hell out of Jason right now.

You're right, there have been lately. I guess I'm thinking of Troy's bluster the last few days. As I was saying on another board, Speak for Yourself just did a full segment on Troy's comments and everyone on there acted like Garrett was just a poor helpless victim. That's totally different from what some of the same guys had been saying most of this year.

Search Twitter for his name. There have been a bunch of tweets and I don’t want to have to try to post them all from my phone.

Didn't see anything on Twitter. I did notice Irvin was on the show today, he needs to update that list of his with jeri's name at the top
