Honestly this is gross negligence. How do you not at least have portions of your practice in the elements? It's inexcusable. Hell at minimum they should have at least worked Dak out with wet footballs throughout the week and found out then, not in the 2nd qtr of the game, whether or not a glove would be better for him in rainy/wet conditions.
The team not being prepared has been a staple for Garrett's tenure here. It's not surprise that he didn't have them prepared for the fucking weather of all things.Honestly this is gross negligence. It's a basic concept "train as you fight". You can't get ready to play a game in the rain, cold, and on slick fields by practicing in a dry warm indoor facility. If I overlooked basic details like this when I was in the military, I would've got hammered and removed from my position.
It almost feels as if Garrett just rolls the ball out there on Sundays with little to no prep work being done.
I'd make a decent size bet jeri won't let the team practice in those conditions for fear of injury, sickness and/or complaints from playersHonestly this is gross negligence. There may be some truth to that. Especially since a handful of players missed time due to the flu.I'd make a decent size bet jeri won't let the team practice in those conditions for fear of injury, sickness and/or complaints from players
What if Garret gets extended but it's because we got to the super bowl?Okay, so I have slept on it, and have decided to not rage quit like a little bitch. I'm not sure why yesterday's loss hit me the way it did. I should be used to this shit by now. I think a lot of it was that we should have won that game. I blame two things (this won't be a shocker)..... the refs and our gameplan/game call. Garrett is still a conservative little fag.
One thing I was dead serious about yesterday, if Garrett gets extended, I am done. I know people throw around empty promises all the time after losses, but this is not one of those times, and I am not one of those people. If Garrett is still coaching this team next year, I am done with the NFL. And, that's saying a lot coming from the guy who started a fucking stupid ass "rebellion" to get Jerry the fuck out of the way. I feel like Jerry has won, and I'm helpless to stop it. Oh well, just a game, right?
It would be the same for me. I would view it as a fluke and nothing really changes for me.What if Garret gets extended but it's because we got to the super bowl?
You're absolutely right. He is never ahead of the curve. Instead he is only reactionary. Here’s the fun part...What overreaction to this loss shall we expect for Thursday?
-Going for it on 4th down and 13 instead of a FG?
- Fair catching a kickoff return at the 10 yards line?
- Only one punt gunner to prevent the block but then give up a 50 yard return?
Oh come on now.It would be the same for me. I would view it as a fluke and nothing really changes for me.
Exactly.Oh come on now.
With a Super Bowl run there is basically nothing different about Garrett than Ron Rivera or Dan Quinn.
Yeah, I don't think yesterday was that bad. The Pats are a juggernaut and we are not, sad as it is. We played a close game, the defense actually showed up, in horrendous weather conditions. A Garrett firing should be about bad losses to the Jets, not showing up for a half against the Packers, and a horrendous final couple series against the Vikings, rather than much from yesterday. As far as Garrett coaching blunders go yesterday wasn't even that bad. The conditions were tailor made for a classic Belichick type game and ultimately we lost because of a blocked punt and some shitty officiating.
The ST's were a complete horror show, but in general the Vikings game was significantly worse and in the pantheon of shitty Garrett coaching displays yesterday is nowhere near the top. I also feel like the players were generally decent. Elliott ran well, the OL was solid against a great defense, the defense was good overall, and Prescott played well enough given the conditions, especially if a few of his big throws weren't called back by bullshit penalties.
But it just seems like the situation with Garrett is at the point of no return to where any display of incompetence is magnified because the jig is finally up on this moron.
Well if we aren't settling for Rivera or Quinn we are in for a lifetime of disappointment. Jimmy Johnson ain't walking through that door. Jerry Jones isn't capable of finding him, and if he is, he's not capable of keeping him.Exactly.
"It's hard to win in this league."The same old complaints about not being prepared, etc, fine, but the Pats are a damn good team. That was their third blocked punt this year, maybe they deserve some credit rather than just blame on us. It was in their building in conditions that they were used to, and which no amount of "practice in the rain" for a week would have gotten us that ready for.
