If you can see this I am changing forum software. I am fucking done with vBulletin. I have zero clue what the new software looks like, but at this point I really don't give a shit. This new company has 24/7 support (versus Mon-Fri 8-5 support), plus they can migrate content, settings, header, user accounts and everything. It also is only $72 a year, so it will be cheaper than what we have been paying. They said it could take up to 24 hours to migrate so the board may go down some in that 24 hour period.

Yeah this thing is still running like crap. Hope they get it fixed before tonight. Otherwise it looks like I'll be off from posting during the game.

Still waiting on vBulletin. I got all of the error logs to them, so they should have a good road map to fix it.

Mine still isn't working at times. Tried to post something earlier and it wanted me to enter LT Fan's password.

I guess Murray>Emmitt wasn't it.

Yeah, they are still working on it. I haven't gotten a reply back from their tech guy yet. If I don't hear anything today, I'm calling and ripping the customer service manager again. This is bullshit.

Also, for now, if you're having trouble seeing posts, click on the first page of the thread and then click on the last. The posts should show up for you that way. It's just a small workaround for now until they get this shit fixed.

The best thing Dooms did, besides running off Middy, was switch to XenForo. It's miles better than vBulletin.
That's one of the software companies I have looked at switching to, but so far it looks like it would be really expensive to import all of our content into their software. They do have an installer that is much cheaper, but it only supports up to VB 5.3 and we're on 5.5.

Speaking of if we want to switch to XenForo, it would be right about $200 for their license plus installation. I would then have to run an importer (which isn't impossible, I just have no experience with it) which is free. It all depends on whether they can support an import from VB 5.5. I might be able to roll us back to 5.3 to make it happen.

What does everyone think?

A few things about XenForo:
  • Social Engagement

Keep your users coming back by letting them earn trophies for reaching milestones. An intuitive "like" system makes users feel appreciated for their contributions, while integration with Facebook allows easy registration and sharing.
  • Recent Activity Stream

Allow people to easily see all the recent happenings on your forum, beyond just the messages posted. Members can follow each other to get their own personalized news feed showing the content they want to see.
  • Alerts

Make it easy for users to stay up to date with updates that are applicable to them. They'll receive alerts when someone quotes their post or responds to a status update, when they receive a new trophy, and more.
  • SEO Built-in

With XenForo there is no need to pay more for your search engine optimization needs. Human-readable URLs, semantic HTML with embedded microdata, and many more SEO features are present in the very core of the system.

We can pass the hat around to help you defray the cost. Kristie will kick in a few bucks from her sex cam.
