That's a good thing. No reason to hurt our future to try and sneak into a first round playoff loss.

I'd be willing to give up as high as a 2nd rounder for the right guy. If this is a young player with pro bowl potential, I would make the move because we need a guy like that badly.

I took it as him meaning in the draft, not a trade. If he was meaning in a trade, then I damn sure do agree with him. I don't see anyone out there worth a high pick that we can afford.

I'd rather we just ride it out with cheap labor.

We've all seen what happens when Jerry works his trade magic. The Cowboys usually end up with some overrated, overpaid player at the expense of multiple high draft picks.

Just try try to make it work with street FAs because we're probably an 8 win team anyway. There's no sense in mortgaging the future by being over reactionary.
I agree.

Why would he be talking about the draft which is 7 months away? We're having DL troubles "right now". Just like he said.

Well, it would save us from drafting another 2nd round TE at the very least.

Since you would literally kill somebody for the sake of this team, why waste all of your badassery on some random schmuck? Why not head straight to Jerry Jones?

I mean, shit. A random murder just to obtain a DLineman? Go straight to the top where it would do the most good.

Don't just tease us. Do it.
Come on now, getting to Jerry or one of you schlubs?

No-brainer.

Although if I could, I would.

The Wynn signing is classically decent, he could probably play a little DE or DT for us and he's been somewhat productive over his career.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones: I don’t want to trade a top draft pick for a defensive lineman
By Jon Machota

As Jerry Jones said Tuesday morning, the defensive line is the Dallas Cowboys’ biggest concern.

Already without defensive ends Tyrone Crawford and Anthony Spencer for the season, it’s likely that injuries will also prevent defensive end DeMarcus Ware and defensive tackle Jay Ratliff from playing Sunday in Philadelphia.

Since they obviously need some help along their defensive front, would the Cowboys consider trading a future top draft pick for a defensive lineman?

Jones didn’t sound like he was a fan of that idea.

“It’s pretty well known, I imagine, around the league, some of the issues we got with our defensive front,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM], “so if some other GMs or personnel people are sitting there saying, ‘I bet Dallas might be interested in this lineman,’ then their wheels are turning, too. That could still happen, but we’re not going to be in a position, and don’t want to give up a high draft pick to get a defensive lineman right now.”

Crawford and defensive end Kyle Wilber are the only defensive linemen the Cowboys have drafted in the last three years. Crawford was selected in the third round in 2012 and Wilber was taken a round later.

This seemed like a good idea at the time.
