I mean, yeah, this team is crazy talented. Quinn was absolutely right -- there are no real weaknesses, and the weaknesses that do exist are relatively minor. We're in a better position than the vast majority of teams in this league.

I would say there are no more excuses and it's time to do something this year, but I know there will be excuses. There are every year.
Pretty good talent all across the roster yet it feels like the Cowboys have little to no chance at making a Super Bowl run.

I would say it's much better than "pretty" good. There are very good players at almost every position except S and TE, and those are two of the least important.

Dak isn't a top-top level QB but we have the type of talent around him that allow QBs like him to win it all.

And I do think they can and should make a deep run. I don't see any reason they wouldn't. Except for the HC being a big bag of nothing, of course. But even there, our talent is so good they might not need a very good coach.

Are you saying that we can win despite Garrett? We've been told that was just an excuse despite it happening in 95.

If your coordinators are good enough we probably can. Of course we have no idea about Moore yet.

HC is exactly the reason why this team has very little chance at making a Super Bowl run.

We've had some very talented Cowboy teams during the Garrett era (dating back to 2007) and they've all failed to even sniff the conference championship round. I fail to see how this year will be any different just because Kellen Moore is the new OC. If you believe in Kellen Moore you're doing so purely on blind fan faith. He's basically coming into this thing under the same circumstance of nepotism like Jason Garrett back in 2007. His coaching resume is as bare as a newborn baby.

So no, I don't see Jason Garrett leading this team on a deep playoff run.

He's basically, as you Game of Thrones nerds would put it: Jason Garrett - King of House Ginger, the Third of his Name, Waster of Talent, Lord of Wasted Challenges, the Father of Clapping, Breaker of Fan Enthusiasm, Creator of Dull Schemes.

Addressing some points...

1. I think this team is quite a bit more talented than 2007, and probably the most talented one they've had in 20 years
2. I have no faith in Moore at all, but as long as he's just average, it's the players that make the difference
3. I don't see Garrett leading anything except field trips and his own promotion, but again, I don't think Brian Billick led the Ravens to a title, either.

Regarding points 2 & 3, who do you see as those players who will step up and compensate for the lack of talent Dallas has at the coaching positions? We have a bunch of "lead-by-example" guys from what I can tell. But is there a player or two who moves the needle and commands the respect of the entire locker room? I don't think that player exists in Dallas. The 2000 Ravens that you referenced had Ray Lewis and a couple of others who fit that mold.

Also, I think you aren't giving those past Cowboys teams enough credit. We have had a ton of talent in Dallas the past 10 years. It's just being wasted on average at best coaching and a meddling front office. I'd argue that those 2007, 2009, 2014, and 2016 teams were just as talented as teams that have gone on to conference championship/Super Bowl appearances....Jax (2017), Atlanta (2016), Chicago (2010), and Denver (2015) to name a few.

You go line by line down the roster and those Cowboys rosters had just as much talent as those teams. The difference is the coaches of those teams pushed the right buttons when it mattered most. Coaching matters immensely in a league driven by roster parity.

I don’t see how people can predict the season when training camp hasn’t even started or how they can predict the outcome of how a coach will do without ever seeing a single play run. That’s a lot of insight or a closed mind.

It's simple pattern analysis.

The pattern in Dallas hasn't changed so why expect different results?

Actually that’s the reason I am am encouraged. The pattern has a change to change this upcoming season.
