Bruce Carter bounces back for Cowboys

After the San Diego Chargers' game, Dallas Cowboys linebacker Bruce Carter lost his starting job on the base and nickle defenses.
It was a humbling feeling for Carter, who allowed two touchdown passes in the loss to the Chargers.
Sunday against the Denver Broncos, Carter played 39 snaps and was credited with four tackles and a tackle for loss. He started the game on the nickle defense and didn't enter the game on the base defense until 10:25 played in the first half.
As the game progressed, Carter and Ernie Sims shared snaps on the nickle and base packages.
"I thought I did OK," Carter said. "They were rotating me and Ernie in and we tried to feed off each other and push each other. I didn’t really care about how many snaps we had, I just wanted to go out there and focus on my job and play it to the best of my ability."
The Cowboys' pass coverage was a mess on Sunday against one of the greatest passers (Peyton Manning) in the NFL's history. But there were times where plays needed to be made and that was lacking from the defense. Manning spreads the ball around to his receivers and the Broncos were accused by the Cowboys for using pick plays, which is illegal.
"Very frustrating to play a team like that," Carter. "With how they're offense is, we were right there to the end. Both teams were elite, nothing to take anything away from them, we go to find a way to finish and giving up (51) points is not good."
