Finally, we are starting to reap the rewards of our incredible defensive line depth.

As an aside, how critical is Jason Hatcher right now?

Extremely. We are in that bad of shape.

We are dead if he gets hurt...no matter who we claim off the wire.

Well, a 2015 7th is likely to be a bubble player.

Real lulz is this:

Cowboys, Sean Lissemore sign new deal
September, 13, 2012

By Todd Archer | ESPNDallas.com

IRVING, Texas -- The Cowboys have reached a three-year extension with defensive end Sean Lissemore.

Lissemore's deal has $3.1 million guaranteed and includes a $2 million signing bonus.

"The Cowboys like him and Sean likes being there," Lissemore's agent Wes Bridges said. "Quite frankly, Sean had a decision to make and see if he wanted to wait it out and go to next year, but he didn't want it to be a distraction and wanted to just play ball. He wanted to get a deal done and get it done this year."

Lissemore, a seventh-round pick in 2010, was under contract through 2013 as part of his rookie deal but is now signed through 2016.

While he has yet to start a game in his two-plus seasons with the Cowboys, Lissemore has become one of their top substitutes and the coaches view him as a future starter. He was credited with two tackles in the season-opening win at the New York Giants, playing end and nose tackle.

He played in every game last year and had 39 tackles, two sacks, two tackles for loss and five quarterback hurries.

He meant a current bubble player from another team that could contribute for us now.

Sean Lissemore traded to Chargers
September, 1, 2013

By Todd Archer | ESPNDallas.com

IRVING, Texas – The Cowboys have made their second trade in two days by sending defensive tackle Sean Lissemore to San Diego for a seventh-round pick in 2015, according to sources.

Lissemore, who signed a three-year extension worth $7.17 million and included $3.17 million in guaranteed money last September, was not viewed as a good fit in the Cowboys’ new 4-3 scheme. The Chargers use the 3-4 scheme Lissemore played in his first three seasons. A seventh-round pick in 2010, Lissemore started six of the 28 games in which he played with 85 tackles and 3.5 sacks.

He suffered a concussion in the preseason finale vs. Houston

The trade opens up a spot on the Cowboys’ 53-man roster, which could be filled today with a waiver-wire pickup.

On Saturday the Cowboys traded their 2014 sixth-round pick to Kansas City for Edgar Jones and the Chiefs’ seventh-round pick in 2014.

The Cowboys will get to see Lissemore in person when they play at San Diego on Sept. 29.

Cue Calvin Watkins: "That's not fair! You're distorting the facts! You're not being professional!"

Lissemore was simply a JAG at best but trading him illustrates that this team has no direction.

I can only assume that this move was made simply to move on from a bad contract.
