I had to look up Hayden to see where he came from. Wisconsin grad who actually had more than a handful of starts in Carolina.
He was Joe Average in Carolina at a time they were begging for some solid run support from the DT position. I do think he's clearly outplayed Lissemore, who has been a huge disappointment though. If he starts, eventually we will pay the price.

I noticed last night we would march out an OLB on WRs when they would go wide against their base defense. They did it with Carter, Durant and Holloman with mixed results.
To be fair I know on one of the plays it took basically a perfect pass to AJ Green to get the ball in there. The coverage wasn't bad at all.

Word from the locker room after the game on Saturday night, was that Jay Ratliff's injury appears to be more serious than first believed and there is a possibility of him not being available for the opening game against the Giants.

I feel somewhat confident in Allen at safety, doesn't seem like he'll make a bunch of big plays but he'll be solid and not give up a bunch of clear stuff over the top.
My fear with Allen is that he just doesn't seem to be much of a play maker. He isn't around the ball nearly as much as you would like out of your safety and he hasn't made many plays at all over his career. I don't want to look at his stat line at the end of the season and see zero INTs and zero PDs. To me that would be a serious concern.

And this is exactly what you'll get with Allen, which is why I want them to play Wilcox. Just baptism by fire. He's a playmaker. He'll get burned a few times but when he gets acclimated to the speed of the game He'll be a holy terror back there.

Right.....this is a surprise to no one.

He'll be lucky to play more than 4 games this year.

Mo claiborne just worked back into practice...little more each day, easing him back in

Garrett on free at guard and parnell at tackle: thought as the game wore on, they got better and better

Garrett on special teams: Got to make sure we eliminate the bad plays..They were obvious

Garrett said there is no excuse for the punt return touchdown..doesn't blame it on guys being tired because of the re-kick

Garrett on Ratliff: its a combination between groin and hamstring..the groin is what he dealt with all offseason, still trying gain strength

Garrett said Free played well enough that he is a viable option at guard now

Garrett said playing Free as guard was one of the things the Cowboys considered whent they made him take a pay cut, delayed by Parnell injury

Garrett on Murray punishment: You can't hand it to a guy who is going to fumble. Those should be safe plays. It can't happen

Free is a "viable option" at guard in the sense that a healthy Bernadeau or any warm body that is able to practice is a viable option.

He got no push at the point of attack in the running game and is gonna get manhandled by the stronger DTs, that was clear. He was good getting into space and sealing blocks but that's not all there is to being a good run blocker.

Free could be a bandaid at the position but expect another year of struggling to run the ball.

Frederick, on the other hand, looks good on a down-to-down basis. I don't think I've seen him pushed back into the pocket in 4 preseason games, yet. He got beat by quickness a couple times, but has never lost a strength battle.

I saw him get pushed back several times this preseason and getting beat with quickness is just as bad.

I love what I have seen from him but he is not without fault.

Also go back and look at some of those goal line plays Free got a good push along with Parnell and Frederick the real problem they had was TE's not holding up.
