Who cares? This drama is getting ridiculous.
What bothers me about it is the lack of accountability.

Why is that Romo can't ever be blamed for anything? He doesn't have to be completely thrown under the bus, but why can't Jerry just say "Yea, I'm sure he'd like to have that one back, but Tony is gonna get that one 9 times out 10"?

The constant coddling of him is ridiculous.

It's a Romo friendly offense, assholes.

If you can't handle that, then you're gonna have to find a new team to root for!

save for Jackie Smith, this might be the most overanalyzed incomplete pass in Dallas history

It's also a lack of accountability on Romo's part.

Maybe Williams did run the wrong route, but that played no part in the failure of that play.

Again watch Romo the whole time. There is absolutely nothing in his body language that suggests he was prepared to make a different throw. There's no pump fake or any type of interrupted throwing motion.

He sets his feet, stares down Williams the entire time, then lets the ball go down the sideline. So if he did anticipate a slant, it didn't affect his ability to make the throw because he's clearly adjusted to what Williams did without any problem.

He just misses the throw, and that's why the play wasn't successful.

Romo just needs to man up and tell it like it is. He was off target.

All of this handwringing from Ace would make sense if it was in a regular season loss.

I think you are turning an offhand comment into something where "blame" exists. There's no blame because there's no consequences for losing in these glorified scrimmages.

There can be internal consequences if the squad perceives that Romo is willing to layoff blame to others which he should own. It creates a lack of trust from someone who is supposed to be a leader.

For a normal team I would agree. However when this stuff has been going on for years then being upset is justified. We just have a stupid team and continuing the same path is frustrating.

Exactly.

This has nothing to do with the actual failure of the play, and I definitely couldn't care less about losing a meaningless exhibition. This is about the culture in our locker room that doesn't change.

I know the odds are highly against it, but the only chance this team has of winning anything of note in spite of the disadvantages they face around them, is to take it upon themselves to set the right mindset in the locker room and form some proper leadership.

Here's Garrett trying to finally set some accountability in this camp and Jerry goes and makes excuses for Romo. I can accept it from him because Jones is an idiot, but Romo disappointed me here.

I guess some players just don't get it, and it contributes to why they fail in big games/moments time and time again and it doesn't help to change the culture at all.
