It's not Hostile's fault if he is given misinformation, jackass.

I guess we move on to Geoff Hangartner and Travelle Wharton now.

Last I checked, I think they still want to play, so we have that going for us...which is nice.

Yeah, it is being spun now as we just decided to be wise in regards to our future cap.

We wouldn't have pursued either one of these two turds if we weren't serious. That's the real issue at the end of the day.

Exactly. Plus, when the hell have we EVER been concerned about future cap concerns?

Jerry Jones: Cowboys are done dealing with Brian Waters... for now

The Cowboys’ flirtations with Brian Waters are over. For now.
Dallas made an offer to the veteran guard, who lives in Waxahachie, but the two sides couldn’t come to an agreement.

“It takes two,” owner Jerry Jones said after the Cowboys’ 12-7 loss to the Cardinals. “We weren’t able to get it done. That doesn’t mean you’re not going to get it done later at all. It just means it’s not done right now.”

The Cowboys had an agreement with veteran guard Brandon Moore on Aug. 6, but Moore retired before reporting. Jones said, barring the unforeseen, the Cowboys will head into the season with what they have on the roster at guard.

Dallas remains hopeful that Nate Livings, who had right knee surgery two weeks ago, and Ron Leary, who had right knee surgery Friday, both will return before the season opener Sept. 8. Livings, who the team signed to a five-year, $18.75 million deal as a free agent in 2012, started all 16 games last season. But the Cowboys have penciled Leary, an undrafted free agent in 2012, as the starter.

“We have always had the alternative of doing what we hope happens and have Livings healthy, and we expect Leary to be healthy,” Jones said.

The Cowboys have been snake bitten at the position, with guards Kevin Kowalski (knee), Ryan Cook (back) and Ray Dominguez (shoulder) among the 16 players who didn’t dress for Saturday’s game.

For now...

:lol

What a loser.

Make a stand, Jerry.

Tell the guy that has been sitting on his couch for a full NFL season to fuck off.

Brian Waters will play, if he finds the right situation
Posted by Mike Florio on August 17, 2013, 9:20 PM EDT

Amid a report that the Cowboys have ended their pursuit of free-agent guard Brian Waters because Waters, in the assessment of the Cowboys, “just doesn’t want to play football,” a league source with knowledge of Waters’ thinking tells PFT that Waters wants to play — in the right situation.

“It hasn’t worked out with Dallas for a variety of reasons up to this point,” the source said, “but it isn’t because he does not want to play. He absolutely would play there or somewhere else if it is the right situation in all the ways it needs to be.”

Previously, at least one report pointed to money being the major factor. It apparently was money that prompted Waters to not show up last year in New England, even though he was under contract with the Patriots.

The Patriots eventually released Waters, who spent 11 seasons with the Chiefs, from the reserve/did not report list, making him a free agent. While his services will be far from free, he’s available to the Cowboys or any other team that provide him with the right situation.

are we cap restrained or is he asking for unreasonable money? Im not buying the 'want to' question either.

Probably both. Dallas has money this year, but is way over the cap next year with Lee, Hatcher and Spencer all being free agents. I'm sure Waters wants it to be worth his while to get off the couch.

Trying to reunite them with Bernadeau?

Jammal Brown and Sean Locklear are still out there. They're tackles but they may still have a little gas in the tank.

Or we could sign Frank Omiyale to keep him from starting against Ware.

OTOH we could probably find someone better after other teams cut rosters to 53.
