We got to this point because we were able to win enough games in the regular season. But then what? We've had 2 playoff wins in over 20 years and haven't been past the divisional round since winning the SB in '95. In order to get past this point we are going to have to be better and much of that falls on coaching. This is the time of year when the cream rises to the top. It's obvious we're going to have to out-talent other teams if we ever advance because we sure aren't going to out-coach them.
Well the poor record of getting to the playoffs over 20 year period isn't due to the current coaching staff or team. I think this is the first season in a long time that people can get enthusiastic about the team.

Florio said that the penalty called on Butler hasn't been called since 1984. So, a mere 33 years since the last time a player cleared the numbers on the field and turned around and ran off. Seems legit.

What bugs me...and just from memory, I don't have the heart to rewatch the game yet...we seemed to blitz Sean Lee a whole hell of a lot and he simply wasn't getting anywhere close. Even on the critical play, he runs and just like shoves the Packer.

I guess I will need to man up and watch it, but that is the best I can do.

:lol

Sounds about right. Talk about an officiating crew just looking for some sort of bullshit.

Exactly. If you look at the specifics of the rule, he has to talk to a teammate before running off. It's unclear that he even does that. I have no idea why they decided to call such an arcane penalty during a fucking divisional playoff game. Took points off the board. Pisses me off. A lot.

I am sure I will at some boredom point before next summer.

But damn that game sticks in my craw. Far worse than 2014.

Maybe it is because homos like Iamtdg started getting to me with their fucking homerism.

Never. Again.

That is for damn sure.

Rewatch the Steelers game, 2nd half of the Ravens game, 2nd half of Eagles game.

I still refuse to rewatch the 1994 NFCC game, even though there is gorgeous play in there from Aikman-to-Irvin.

This year's disappointment stings more because it should. No baggage with Zeke and Dak. Didn't have losses stemming from debacleling, idiotic head shaking things like years past. Only had 1 bad game. #1 seed. Jordy Nelson out. Manhandled the Packers earlier in the year.

God I hope this is our version of 91 Lions loss.

I'd like to think we have a bright future with a young team but I can't get excited about it as long as we have Garrett and this staff. Hoped this unexpected year would be different, but even with HFA we couldn't get past the divisional round for the first time in over 20 years due to coaching blunders. Hard to fathom we will ever win the necessary 3-4 postseason games in a row that it'll take to win a SB without them f'ing it up.

Tony Corrente should be fired.
Personally both crews for the Sunday games should be fired.

They both had a huge role I'm the overall outcome on the results.

They ultimately got what they wanted and I'm glad to hear that the end result is a decline in prices for Super Bowl prices. Hit the pricks where it hurts.

Its not, because we have a HC that gets away from what his team does best when the games really count.

There is always next year, Booze. Wait until we draft all defense and come into next year the SB favorites. Oh how glorious that will be. :towel

It sounds crazy, but as well as Heath played this year I think you have to consider not re-signing Church unless he wants to come back for cheap.

I have always liked Heath. He may be the only DB on the team that uses the fundamental style of tackling. He wraps them up and he uses his shoulders to direct hit and it's usually low so it disrupts the center of gravity of the receiver or runner. Most DBs just propel themselves at the opponent. Half the time they either miss or allow the target to get away. It's the old style of tackiing and I think the best.
