And he shouldn't have been fired either. How did that work out for the team?

On a side note what an odd coach. The guy was in the playoffs every single year. But just could not win once he got to the playoffs. In a way it reminds me a little of the current Chiefs coach Andy Reid. Basically can coach up a shit talent roster to win a bunch of games during the regular season but just doesn't have the talent to do damage in the playoffs.

Quit being babies. It was kind of funny.

We'd be doing the same thing if Prescott PWNT the Packers.
Of course we would, because, you know, we are a Cowboys msg board not a Packers.

Yeah, I also disagreed with that firing.

Point is though the comparison.

What exactly has Garrett accomplished here that gives him a permanent position sans scrutiny of any kind? Shouldn't Stephen Jones be standing up and questioning this?

Looking at it from Garrett's perspective he's hit with some average defensive personnel and a rookie QB, but the inability to recognize your team going flat over the last couple of weeks is inexcusable.

Most competent coaches could have succeeded with the quality of offensive personnel and overall talent in Dallas.

The way the schedule broke, 13-3 was about right. What does Garrett bring that pushes us higher than the average NFL coach?

Unless there's an obvious upgrade that's available, it's a moot point.

I'm still flabbergasted we were down 21-3.

Jordy Nelson out, Morgan Burnett out, essentially 2 weeks rest, at home, as healthy as any team can be...

I'm sure as hell not switching offenses on the guy. And everyone calling for all these whole sale changes are crazy in my opinion. You're team just went 13-3. They showed great improvement from 2015. Why anyone would want to throw all that away and start from scratch is crazy to me. I'm not dumping half the roster or doing anything crazy. Like I've said, this offense should be good for a while. I hold as much of it together as possible and I continue to build the defense.
Maybe not but can someone remind Linehan and Garrett wtf a run first team means?

It reminds me of the Detroit game in the regular season. Defense couldn't stop anything the first three drives and gave up 21 points, then adjusted and largely kept them in check the rest of the game.

The difference is the offense put up 14 to start the Detroit game, and 3 here.

That's the way it is currently. Garrett doesn't have to be a Bellicek type to be successful. He just needs to surround himself with good assistants and let them do them do their job. He also needs to soak up the knowledge of the variety of input from them to broaden his own knowledge base.

His biggest problem in the past has been micromanaging and his expertise was too narrow. He or someone has changed that trend and the team has gotten better when the Quarterback position was up to speed.

The drafting trends with the organization has certainly improved so with everything considered Garrett can be a successful if these aspects of the organizarion continues the same trends.
